I'm in business!

Today my first site was purchased, launched and monetized with Adsense. Just a few minutes ago I checked and my first click through occurred.

Cost of the site $31.00
Adsense Revenue $0.31

At this rate I only need 100 more days to break even and with a couple thousand sites more I can change careers.

Seriously, thanks for all the advice and valuable content you Warriors provide.

  • Firstly, welcome to the game. Internet Marketing is a life changer, if you work hard, it took me about 1 year to start making regular $100 days.

Secondly, sounds like your new, so here is some free advice:
    1. I, plus 2 of my close mates tried Adsense. Two of us, me being one of them, made very little money. The ROI was very low, the cost of driving traffic to the site outweighed the 10 cent clicks. However one of my mates, started making a $1000 + a month, but got his account banned by Google. My mate swears he never did anything wrong, he feels like he got banned on a whim, or his competitors did something suspicious. The lesson, don't put all your eggs into Adsense, if you get banned, its game over.
    2. Think about other streams of revenue. I do $100 to $300 days, I do this by promoting affiliate products, and driving traffic to my site.

You will own a million dollar mansion, and have complete freedom in months to come if you work hard. Good-luck.

  • First of all great that you took action & have got initial success. Now you have got the plan, just scale it up.

Also as Michael said, you should not focus only on Adsense if you want to build a long term online business & make full time online income. Your focus should be on adding multiple online income streams which you can do in many ways along with Adsense such as affiliate marketing, your own product creation, etc.

Whatever you do, wish you all the best.

    Cheers

  • Awesome!! It's always great to have that first taste of success right in the beginning as a reward for your efforts.

A couple people mentioned not putting all your eggs in one basket, so you'll probably want to keep a close watch on how your Adsense site performs over these next few weeks. I would definitely recommend doing that before diving into a few hundred (or a thousand!) more Adsense sites, just so that you can get a better sense of your ROI.

Good luck with your site, I hope it turns out to be a really profitable endeavor for you!

  • Yes its an exciting time for you.

You will celebrate your first $1 day.....then you will pump your fist in the air when you get your first $1 click........then when you least expect it you'll check your stats and see $2.95 for 1 click and you'll fall over from the shock.

Then you'll be rooting for your first $10 day.

    Then, $20

    Then, $30

    Then $40

    etc....

all the way to your first $100 day

But it sure doesnt quite beat the rush ....as that first click!

  • Hi:

    Shireen here :-)

Congratulations! Keep generating traffic to your site & make more $$$

    • WOW!

The validation and encouragement in here is amazing! I never expected to have this much response to making 31 cents. I am blown away.

This first monetized site is just the beginning. Currently it only has Adsense, but I am within hours of a clickbank product and Amazon.

I need a career change and looking to IM for that change.

Once again, I am grateful for the wisdom, knowledge and the way you all this info share so liberally. I've discovered that nearly any answer is available in this forum simply by searching the threads or asking.

      Thank You!

  • Try to change the adsense ads to relevant cpa offers.
  • 1 Affiliate sale = $50 to $100

I stopped chasing pennies rolling along the ground and switched to snatching dollar bills floating through the air. I worked no harder but made a LOT more money for the same traffic ...try a mixture of both and see what works beter for you.

    • This is true to a point. I suspect those affiliate sales don't pay $50 to $100 per click though. When you break affiliate sales down to the click level the pay sometimes isn't that different than AdSense clicks. As a matter of fact, some niches pay way more per click through AdSense then you would make on affiliate products.

I'm not trying to be scientific about this, just an observation from my own experience. Obvious;y you've found a way to make your traffic pay better, and that's fantastic!
  • Well done! You've taken a massive step already in making money, regardless of how small it may seem now. Just spend a bit more time on researching higher paying keywords for your next lot of sites. There's lots of untapped niches/keywords out there. It just takes a little time to dig them out. Keep up the momentum and don't stop until you hit your next target.
  • Awesome! Keep up the good work and keep building good content to your site.
  • Good Job! congratulation ...Best of luck in future

Congrats. You can also probably monetize it with an affiliate or CPA ad. Don't stop at just Adsense.
  • Great job! Congratulations! More success to your endeavor and more blessings!
