Hi - I'd just use one of the web 2.0 properties i.e. yourdomainname.wordpress.com

You could get a .tk site for free, it's not a .com or anything but you get what you pay for... in this case nothing. But well worth a look at.

If your autoresponder is with aweber you can set up your opt in box as a squeeze page in appearance and have aweber host it for free, you can then get a domain and redirect it to the aweber url.

There's a lot of well-intentioned but misguided advice above.

You should AVOID both wordpress.com (where any form of monetisation, commerce or list-building at all will result in deletion of your blog, because of their terms of service) and blogger.com (where it may do the same - but their interpretation of their TOS is less consistent and more idiosyncratic).

One easy way for you to do this - all free - is with a self-hosted Wordpress blog.

You can get a free domain-name from .co.cc (though a .info domain-name from GoDaddy for $1 is better - come on, a resourceful guy like you can come up with either $1 or a friend with $1).

You can get reliable, secure, professional, advertising-free, well established hosting at Free Hosting, Paid Hosting, Reseller Services & VPS Servers : Byet Internet

Other sites where you can safely and legitimately do you what you want to do without paying anything are Yola.com, Weebly.com and Blinkweb.com (but you'll need to use their site-builders, and not Wordpress, in those places).

It's possible to do things professionally and safely and without living in fear of site deletions, without spending any money at all, and without breaching people's terms of service and hoping to "get away with it".

What makes these superior to blogger? TOS?

          Indeed.

Byethost is the best/safest option, I think. It's just very good hosting that happens to be free.

But those other places have far more favourable TOS than Blogger.

Blogger sounds fine, but the reality is that that's terribly difficult to be sure that you're complying with their TOS, because their interpretations of their own TOS are so very inconsistent and idiosyncratic.

Sometimes "having an affiliate link" or "having a link to another website you own" can be regarded as "spam" or "using a Blogspot site to generate traffic to another site" (in which case that's the end of the blog); other times it apparently isn't! :p

This is why so many Warriors have had their blogs there deleted in the night without understanding what they've done wrong, and started threads here to express their horror and surprise at what's happened,

So making "sure" you don't violate the TOS at Blogger is basically impossible for most Warriors wanting to use their site for any purposes connected with their businesses.

It's just not safe ... and it's not necessary, either, when you look at all the "proper, free" options, just a few of which are mentioned above.

There are plenty of people who've "got away with it" at Blogger for years, it's true ... and there also plenty who haven't, and loads of their threads and posts are right here, to tell you all about it. It's not worth the risk, in my view.

Wordpress.com is a different matter: that's just a direct contravention of their TOS, black and white and simple, and any such blog there will be deleted as soon as it's seen.

Blogger.com would be good option as you can also earn money there, you can also use hub pages as well.

Go with a .info, since it will be a throwaway and u just want to use it to build your list. Then you could sign up for a cheap $7 hosting. Throw up a WP site and you're in business.
Having control of your page is better. If you still want to use those other free sites, I'd just use them to funnel more traffic to your money page. If anything happens to your free pages, you don't care, because your main hosted page is secure.

Why not just buy a domain? If you think your eBook will even sell a few copies, it will pay for itself. You can get paid hosting for less than $5 a month. Free is rarely free.

Agreed, no offense but some people are here are incredibly cheap, it takes money to make money.

In life, anything that is "free" comes with a hidden price. Not to mention, a domain costs $7 and hosting can be bought for $5 a month. If you can't afford to toss $15-$20 into your marketing, you need to re-think your strategy.
