I have got the PLR articles, how do I make sure I'm putting in unique content

Hi there,

I have bought some PLR articles which are good quality. But I'm sure there are others who have bought the same set of articles. Now they would also be posting the same articles on their blogs/sites. How do I make sure that my content would be unique?

    You make it unique by rewriting the entire article, or at least parts of it.

    You can also make it unique by not publishing it in the same format as all (or most of) the other PLR buyers:
    • turn the articles into a short report
    • turn the articles into a short video
    • turn the articles into an autoresponder series
    • take two or three of the articles with a similar theme, or addressing a similar issue, and turn them into a longer, single article
    • record some of the articles and release as a podcast
    • etc...

      Since I'm just beginning, I would probably give re-writing a try. I know that there are many re-writing softwares/services out there. Which one is the best (and off course cheapest) to start with?

        I am a writer, and have been moving away from private clients and into the PLR business. To be honest, I would say avoid writing software. I realize I'm picky when it comes to quality, but I've never seen a piece of software that spit out an article that didn't seem "off" in one way or another.

        I'm not a fan of super-cheap pay either, but one thing you may want to do is put your project up on a site like Elance.com or Guru.com - outsource it to a writer or two. Just say you need them rewritten, and you can decide to what extent you want the rewriting done. You can get writers who will do a good job for a couple dollars an article - so you won't pay a lot, and the quality won't be compromised.

        Just a suggestion.

        And remember, 90% of people who buy PLR never use it. So even if the articles are only partially rewritten they won't be competing with as many as you may think.

          Now that's strange..!!!
          Why would someone buy the PLR articles then? The only thing I can guess is some other ways of using PLR article stated in the responses above.

    It also depends on what you are using the articles for. But you can rewrite some of the article and put it through copyscape.com to see if any other articles pop up. This will help you know if it is truly unique.

      Do I need to get premium membership of copyscape? The free version confirms if the published version is unique or not. It does not provision to check non published articles for uniqueness.

    B. Smit gave some great ideas when it comes to making PLR more unique and I suggest you use them all.

    The other thing I would suggest is using portions of the PLR articles in blog comments to answer questions that eventually drive traffic back to your site. It really works wonders!

    It really is true that lots of people who buy PLR never use it. Yes it sounds silly but I am the same - I have a lot of PLR I've bought but never got round to using, it's very common with PLR and with info products etc.

    Anyway, I agree with others that rewriting it is a good idea. You will need a premium Copyscape account to check it, but it's very affordable. Personally I don't think you'll even need it - if you rewrite it sentence by sentence you'll know it's unique.

    But you don't even need to rewrite it all, you could add stuff to it, change the order around, edit a few paragraphs and make it semi-unique in that way. If you use it in autoresponder emails, reports etc. then you don't even need to worry about uniqueness.

    I would suggest rewriting it manually rather than with a program. Take some time and add your own personality to the article. Rewriting is pretty fast compared to writing normally and is well worth the time rather than using spinning software.

    Rather than copyscape, I normally use Article Checker.

    Re-writing is definitely one of the best ways to go. I buy 'loads' of PLR and use it mainly in auto-responders, without making any changes.
    And if I use the content on my site I normally include an introductory paragraph at the start of the article and include at least 1-2 other short paragraphs within the original article.

    If you go down the re-write route then a great free desktop application is DupeFreePro. Do a Google search and you'll find it easily enough.

    Premium Copyscape is dirt cheap. I'd rewrite them manually or hire a writer to rewrite them, so that they are good quality articles rather than spun articles, particularly if you want humans to actually read them.

    You can use a wordpress plugin like WPUnique to make sure it is unique. I use a combination of The Best Spinner + manual fixes + wpunique. I do more rewrite depending on the use I am going to give to the PLR article.

    Use copyscape.com
    Make a blog, make a post and insert that plr article in, put the link of the post to copyspace and you will see the results.
    Don't forget to delete that post after doing the test.

    I agree with others that manual rewrites and a run through copyscape are effective methods to getting unique content from your PLR.

    If you want to start out completely free, download dupefree pro. It will allow you to check the uniqueness of your rewrite with the original article to make sure it is unique.

      I can second DupeFree Pro. It's a very nifty piece of software that makes it very easy to make your article almost completely unique (if you want to go that far). Not only does it give you the exact percentage of duplicate content, it also highlights the parts where you should change text.
