Some of you may have already seen the video below. My eldest brother who is not into I.M. At all showed this to me last night at my parents place. This guy does everything right... Hes himself. No B.S.... Plain and simple, no hyped up marketing jazz, no shirt and tie, no formal crap... And im pretty sure he may actually be drunk.

Enjoy

John, I agree with you that video marketing is not hard to learn, anyone can throw together any old video and market the crap out of it by posting to dozens of video sharing sites... vlogs... etc.

But... learning how to Master video marketing is not easy and takes talent to accomplish the viral effect, as 'Jones Big ass truck rental' has done.

If you do some research on this guy, you will find out that he is actually a standup comedian and 'Big Dog Eat Child' (a sketch comedy group) is behind this marketing phenomenon:

"Wanna see the man behind Toby Jones in person? Want a sneak peek of the newest Jones' business venture before it hits the web? Big Dog Eat Child and Robert Hines will be performing at the Lakeshore Theater on New Year's Eve.

Robert will do his hilarious stand up, Big Dog Eat Child will perform our brand of sketch comedy for people with A.D.D. as wells as other great acts, and you can start off the new year by seeing the next, brand newest Jones' commercial. You Can't Beat That."

This 'commercial' is a strategically planned execution of comedy and marketing. It took PLANNING, it didn't just happen by chance.

That was well worth the 1:30 it took to watch. Hilarious stuff.

THAT'S the kind of thing I aspire to as a video marketer, who makes the random video for fun Gotta have some site to point the video at.

    My favourite line:

"This is a bus! Do you know how big a bus is?"

    And a close second:

"Give me a call or find me on them internets at..."

(Reminds me of a crank call I heard a few years ago about this brother who rings up to audition for a black metal band--where, of course, the nerdy honky on the end of the phone is not really lookin' for that kinda black if you know what I'm sayin.

"Man, Hell yeah! I got the equipments!")

Or this one, even (which is all in the tone of voice and contrast of comic pacing):

"Now friends... you may ask yourself 'How in the Hell can he store all this stuff so cheap'?"

These guys are brilliant. And as Jared points out, it's obviously an extremely well-thought-out and executed marketing plan.

I truly hope they reap what they sewn; coz it's brilliant!

@the OP: Thanks for the laugh!

    P.S.
make sure you take a look at the website, too. The list of things he's happy to store (on the back of the t-shirt) is almost as funny.

Here's a follow-up vid. Not as funny, but a neat little "extra" to my favourite line (mentioned above) at the end, which made me laugh out loud.

Jared and Ldimilo hit the nail right on the head. His marketing is so effective because of his comedy and entertainment.

Frank Kern uses "comedy" and entertainment too.

How many other IMers dress up in a skirt and promote it to there list? lol
