Need of serious Help

You say you've bought lots of guru products and got no results. First step, stop buying stuff.

Like all businesses this isn't a get rich quick thing so if you have debts and they need paying off regularly then you need regular and immediate income, for that you need a job. Once you have that and you start paying off your debts a bit easier (forgive me if you already have a job) you can relax a bit.

When I started this I was living in a room in what was quite simply a house full of heroin addicts and dealers. I had a job as a cleaner paying just enough to pay the rent and feed me. I got up before work and tried to get my IM career going, I came home from work and did the same. When I started I couldn't use Word or Excel let alone IM. I had to learn and for 2 years I earned virtually nothing before I started seeing slightly more consistent results. I also bought a lot of crap in that time.

Why am I telling you this? Because it requires hard work and dedication. I knew I had to get out of the mess I was in and I worked hard at it. After 2 years of learning I realised what I wasn't doing. I wasn't taking action, I was waiting for the right niche, I was scared that I'd spend time on something and it wouldn't work. So after 2 years I thought "Sod this I'm just going to make a site". Guess what? It didn't even make one sale but I'd learned how to do it, I wasn't scared anymore. I made another and another and another....forward another 5 years and I'm rather pleased at where I'm at.

You have a site, you're on a forum full of people that can give you advice. This forum itself is like the bible of IM. Read threads, take note of certain warriors that are experts, take action everyday and don't let anything stop you. Aim for a small figure first then scale up. Take your time, this isn't a race.

The biggest thing is to make sure you find something that has the potential to be profitable and focus .on that. There is a ton of good advice on here about how to choose something that has the potential to be profitable

As long as you jump from one thing to another you wont make money. You have to stick at something to see results. I know from personal experience that is hard when you are desperate but that is the only way to see results.

There are no Instant ATM's or silver bullets... work hard and reap what you sow.

Very new to this forum but definitely not new to the IM game.

Had a pretty similar story to Richard actually minus the crack addicts and needle bearing junkies! I put a lot of time into learning and a lot of money into so called "Guru Methods" only to find out that I had fallen so far behind in my electricity that I was cut off forced to couch surf with only my laptop to sane. YOU MUST create a steady source of income first before you can approach the IM game it is not an overnight affair I can guarantee you that.

Take action and learn all you can learn from this and the multitude of IM forums out there, but dont forget to TAKE ACTION.

Back to the OP. Get on the Google keyword tool and find some keywords related to something you know something about. Anything - do you have a hobby, a sport, a medical condition, a family occupation, a problem that needs solving in your town, anything you know something about.

Then set up a site related to that. As it's something you know about it's something you can write about.

Then read as much as you can here about how to get visitors to your site. Onsite seo, off site seo, backlinking, article submission, etc.

Get stuck in. But be wary of offers for xx,xxx backlinks, facebook fans etc - most are spammy or false accounts - they will do nothing to boost your seo and everything to turn Google against your accounts.

I don't make thousands of dollars a month like some here, but I can honestly say that none of my sites suffered in the slightest with the latest google updates.

I'm building my online business slowly and steadily, alongside my offline business.

If you need money desperately - try the method I often recommend. Get a bucket and sponge and go round offering to clean cars, windows, yards. Immediate money, no long term commitment.

You are in the same position as many other Warriors are..It's important to stay relaxed and focus on what you have to do.The worst thing you can do is get disappointed and quit everything.Don't do that.

What you can do though is this :

1.Stop buying stuff from the supposed "Gurus".The most valuable and FREE info you could get is here in the Warrior Forum.If you can afford,purchase a subscription to the War Room,is only 37$ i think and there you could find tons of great advice.

2.Start taking notes and focus in ONE single thing!Do not try to be the Jack of all trades.In your case focus on affiliate marketing!Learn everything that you can about it.

3.Start TAKING ACTION.After you have built the site, try and find the FREE methods that will bring traffic to your site.(blog commenting,forum posting,SEO,article writing,directory submissions,Youtube,Facebook,Twitter etc)

I believe that you can do it.Now try and believe in your self that you can do it.

felt motivated to post because sensed some real anxiety and heartache from the OP, which I can REALLY sympathise with

Ive been doing the IM thing for 5 years now full time and I WISH someone had told me this stuff back when I started:

1. making money online took way more time and study (blood sweat ans tears too!) than a 3 year Bsc in Psychology - Im no dummy, this stuff is definitely not "get rich quick", not for the faint hearted, not for the work shy and not for the casual dabbler - its proper proper graft mate

2. online "gurus" - look, lets be real :everyone has an agenda, EVERYONE, "gurus" are out there to make money, Ive seen a couple of good people go down in the last 2 years because they believe everything the "Guru du jour" tells them e.g.
"mr x is saying that ebook sales have gone up by 3000% in the last 48 hours, he has a graph and a video and everything that proves it"
"so whats he selling?"
"he's selling an ebook on how to write ebooks"
"do you think that might make him massage the stats to convince you to buy his product?"
"No! of course not"
"Okaaaay...."
The most amount of money to be made online is in teaching hopefuls how to make money online, people will always spend money on the chance they will make it back. Be careful mate. Remember : whats the agenda? Cui Bono?

3. Nobody cares. Really. Noone has time and everyone else is just like me and you, totally selfish. You have to make them care. If you can find a way of getting people to give you money without you generating a massive amount of TRUST or giving them a huge tonne of VALUE, then please do let me know what it is

Someone mentioned herione above. Even heroine dealers generate trust and give value. I trust this heroine will get me very very high and is worth more (to me, little junky that I am) than the money Im giving for it.
Without pressing a gun to someones head I dont think there is any other way.

4. Affiliate Marketing? Whats your target income? By when? How passionate are you about the products you are promoting as an affiliate? Can you write amazing informative inspiring content? Can you make amazing informative inspring videos? How are you going to get peoples attention, build their trust and get them to buy? These are all questions you need to sit down and ask yourself honestly and answer honestly or else you will spend time and money with nothing to show for it. THe only people who will benefit are the "gurus" who you gave cash you didnt really have to.

5. Its not easy. Anyone who tells you it is, is selling you something.

Get a steady income going first then you will have time to STUDY internet marketing.

Make sure you are building a list, also. It is one of the most fundamental,
yet still important, strategies of doing an online business. Good luck.

Maybe you should take a look at some basic stuff first. Running a niche website for example? You probably have other interests than IM too, so build a site around that particular thing what interests you the most.

Subjects or niches that interest you just so happen to be stuff you know a lot about. This can mean a lot valuable content for your website. Start a blog in this niche and use adsense, amazone and see if there are some clickbank products you can promote too.

Keep your blog updated daily and promote your blog with social bookmarking them. If you don't know how to do all this, then I suggest you should just read the information on this forum and the likes a bit more. A lot of great information is shared on the internet just for free. You just have know where to look.

Just make a simple niche website, to get the feel. And I am positive it will bring in some money. This will get you motivated again, because I think you've lost the motivation. Making money online is possible just discover your road.

How much time did you invest in making your guru products work? The sales page is going to give you the best possible outcome from their best students, somewhere it says your results will vary.

Before you go looking for something new be sure you have given your site and purchases an honest try, at least a solid month of effort, yes E-F-F-O-R-T, no product will make you any money unless you work it.

That being said, you joined the forum last month and are already discouraged? Way too soon, keep promoting your site and working at it, you'll get there.

Affiliate marketing does have the potential to make you a lot of money, but it can be hard to get the hang of at first. Depending on what your approach was, it could be that all you need to do is a bit of tweaking to improve your strategy and start having some success.

What kinds of methods were you using to make money as an affiliate? (Article marketing, article directory marketing, email marketing, Youtube?...) You said you were new to all this. How much time have you spent on it so far? Many people don't realize that it can a fair amount of time before profits really start to come in. It's great if you start getting sales and commissions in the first few days or weeks, but sometimes it can take much longer than that.

You might also want to analyze the products that you're trying to promote. What problem do they solve? Will people have a big desire to solve that problem? Is it priced appropriately, or will the cost turn people away? Does the sales page look professional, or scammy? Is it the kind of product that people would actually want to buy online? Likewise, you'll also want to think about your target audience, so that the right people are coming across your links.

Lastly, you should review whatever it is that you're doing to try to make sales (articles, blogs, emails, videos, etc.). Make sure that everything you're putting out seems legitimate and professional, and not like spam. Perhaps you're already doing fine with most of this, but if you notice an area for improvement, try a little tweaking to improve your campaigns, and see if it helps your conversion rates.

Since you need to clear your debts, you might want to consider offering your services first, to earn some money right off the bat. For example, you can use the "Warriors for Hire" section, Fiverr.com, etc. Once you have some money under your belt, you'll be able to relax and focus on what you're trying to accomplish. True, it is a good idea to try a niche site in an area you're interested in, or spend time learning more about internet marketing. However, it's hard to do that when you're worrying about debts, so if you need money NOW, then focus on service-oriented jobs for a bit so that you can start getting debt-free, and spend a bit of your spare time focusing on your more long term goals, until you are in a financial position where they can be the main focus of your attention.

If I were you, here's what I'm gonna do if you're struggling at affiliate marketing:

1. Offer some services to your customers (article writing, profile backlinks, etc.)
2. Spend at least 1-2 hours a day on learning about the different methods of affiliate marketing and SEO as well.

Keep it coming everyday until you've finally learned everything.

i would have to agree with pretty much most of the advice provided. making money online is not an ovenight thing, i been doing this for over 5 years already and im not even close to where i want to be as an internet marketer, also i have been through the ups and downs as every other person thats trying to make a living online. My advice to you (FESTI9) is to learn as you grow, learn from your mistakes and learn from others. If you want some really good info go buy the "GET RICH CLICK" book by Marc Ostrofsky the book is brand new only about 1 month old and has some really valuable information that everyone can use also very inexpensive so thats an investment u wouldnt regret

I agree with everything said here. I have been in internet marketing for several years, been pretty successful the last 3-4 years, but I still hold my steady income stream. I actually like my job by the way. At any rate, if I can give you a key piece of advice let me ask you a question...

Of those products you bought how many of them did you take from start to finish and do everything you could to make it work?

Did you buy all the hype get excited, watch the first half, and decide to buy the next product?

Or did you watch the whole product and say that's going to take too long let me get something else I can do first, and then I will do that?

These are three things I used to do. Then I realized the products weren't really helping. It was coming to places like this or other forums, and reading what others were doing and sharing.

I buy products now to keep up with the game, see what is popular, how I can add value and how I can make money. But the key thing is regardless of what the boneheads say, you aren't going to make money by watching a few videos. You have to actually pick a method, implement it, modify it, make it your own and then you will make money.

Oh and don't think you are going to support yourself off IM right off the bat. You have to invest to make money so you need some income.

If you spent that much money on "guru" products i'm sure (and hope) you are aware of the basics on how to go about making money online.

The problem though is each of those products really only work (if they are quality products) if you put in the amount of work thats required into it.

I don't want to say they are scammers but lets logically think. If someone was promising 10k+/month by implementing their strategy, why in the world would they want to sell it? Why not just implement that strategy themselves (well I guess they are in some cases by selling that product) a couple times and make 100k+/month instead of sharing it with the world?

The simple answer is they know that using their methods take time and its easier to make money by teaching other people their knowledge on how to go about doing it.

When I first started it was difficult because I jumped around different products as well. For example, there was a time I made 3-5 new targeted websites for a specific keyword to make quick easy cash on "autopilot" but I realized its better to make fewer and just spend more time updating the sites with quality content instead of trying to "cheat" google's ranking system (though don't get me wrong it does work).

The point is, as others have mentioned, you should probably find a regular job at this time then slowly invest your free time to IM if you choose to do so. Unfortunately, not many make money online overnight as many promise you will.
