My new website and I'm excited. But..

Yes, you might well tell that I might be dumb but I started doing "affiliate business" through More Niche. I request you to fuel me with confidence and you can critize me at the end

I 'bought' a website.. Now.... the problem arises and hits me! Here they are-

1. What next (after buying it)??
2. I know I have to do research more n more n more on keywords to write articles regarding the project, but the thing is- How do I design the site, I mean not with the templates but placing of articles and offers and so on.
3. I had been to affiliate sites but that didn't clear my ambiguities.
4. I am not worried on "Ad sense" because I know my website has to be at least 6-months old. All I want is contents and more of arranging the contents.

Thanks millions to all those who help me. I really owe you something big.

Kindly help.

Regards

Girish

We'll, that's a great start for you buddy. All you need to do is to optimize the website well with relevant keywords to your website. Make sure those keywords are:

    1. Less competitive
    2. At least 1,000+ monthly searches
    3. No more than 10 million search results

I hope this will help you a bit. Cheers!

I'm not sure if you were planning on setting up a wordpress site or not, but there are plenty of different themes to pick from. You can also research "heatmap" themes that are designed to improve click rates based on where people tend to look while viewing a webpage. Also, try to keep your site looking clean and stylish - as opposed to loud, blinky and spammy.

@David: You're promoting IllusionMage on your site. It's a scam, it's a copy of OpenSource Software "Blender". Just sayin'

Like others have said, design the site in a way YOU would like it.

The only 2 suggestions I have for you are:

    1) Do not look for confidence from others. Instead you have to believe in yourself and your own determination/abilities.

    2) Keep reading forums like this, because almost every question beginners have... have already been answered at least 17 times. Most of the time you will find priceless gems in those older threads.

I hope everything works out for you.

    Hello, first welcome to IM.

It seems like you already bought a domain name for your website. I hope your domain matches the keywords that you are targeting. If not then...it'll be harder to rank for the keyword you choose unless you plan to update the website and plan for long term success.

Usually if you are creating a simple website to promote others' products, the steps are:

Do a targeted keyword research that is relevant to the product you are promoting and are also targeted so that people who are doing the search are in the mindset of buying a product. Research I would say is the most important part because if you get this wrong, everything down the road will have been for naught or at least it'll be much more difficult
(consider your competition, how often your keywords are searched for etc.)

then buy a domain name that matches the keyword that you hope to rank for

then post relevant articles over the next couple days and with a product review at the top

Designing the site can vary depending on the type of product you are promoting and the expected viewer (gaming vs. weight loss for example would differ a lot in terms of lighting and feel to the website)

I use wordpress which is pretty easy to use after exploring around for a bit. If you're using one of the popular webhosting provider like bluehost, godaddy etc. they should let you install wordpress into your domain through their cpanel.

    Good luck!

Firstly thanks a ton, inhwanie, for the help.

      1. I have bought a domain from godaddy.com, Yes, I had done pretty good research (Good because this was first time I researched on the product and found few keywords using google keyword tool) . And I have named the site on the keyword so first step from buying a domain is done.

      2. "The contents" on the site that I meant were the "navigation". I mean the sites shouldn't look similar to blog. I mean to have navigation buttons. I'm confused what to include, HOW to search them.

      3. I have to write articles using SEO concept, but what is the word count for the articles, what are the titles, topics and all?:confused:
      4. People are using wordpress, blogger etc., to promote their sites. When I have my own site, why blogs? Please enlighten me as I have very little knowledge.
I have searched for info for all these, but, the more I research the more I'm going getting stressed! Please help.. I am posting here and not searching further because this is very interactive here and can help me in many many ways.

Thanks millions inhwanie. I highly appreciate your concern towards newbie like me.

        Hey again,

you can make a free blog at the wordpress site but you can also use the install the wordpress platform on your own domain and use it. Many people do this because its easy to use and you can do a lot of things with different plug ins that are available (for more info go to wordpress.org not wordpress.com)

As for writing articles that are SEO'ed, the quick and dirty tip I could give you is to actually write relevant articles without thinking too much about SEO first. (I assume you are knowledgeable on what your website is about.) Believe it or not the best way to write is to forget about what trying to look good for search engines but to write quality information for real people. And if you do that, you'll naturally optimize your posts. For example, you'll use terms and phrases that people will generally use when they think of the topic and that'll allow you to capture different sources of traffic that even google keywords has not identified (including LSI keywords as well).

Once its written, I would then go back and see how often i've used the main keyword in my article (and hopefully you'll have a lot of variations to your keyword and related keywords naturally) and make sure its between 3-5% of the total word count of the article.

If you write useful original info, you'll get ranked eventually. guaranteed. There are obviously things you could do to shorten the time but in my opinion its better to just start writing quality posts and learn to tweek a little here and there as you go rather than stressing out about how to SEO and keep delaying

      Hi DWolfe,

      Many thanks for the response.

In India, websites need to be 6 months old in order to add Ad sense to the sites.

    Welcome to the WF, Girish!

Where and how you start is not nearly as important as people think. At some point you have to take action - and you've certainly done that!

Finish your research and develop your overall plan. Once you have that, the rest of it becomes obvious.

You've got to give readers a reason to be there and to come back, to sign up for your list, build credibility and trust so they click through on your offers, and convert prospects into customers, customers into repeat buyers even rabid fans. The easiest way to do that is to overdeliver content to your readers on each step in the process and you almost cannot fail. But always keep in mind that no one is going to find you unless you also keep the search engine bots happy.

As far as look-and-feel, you can log-in to your hosting account and find templates for HTML/CSS or just install WordPress and use their templates. The primary attraction, for me, to WP is the plug-ins that really do make things faster and easier to do than going with HTML/CSS.

I wish you the best with your site. Keep your marketing laser focused with your less competitive keywords and keep updating your content on your site as this will really help with your rankings.

    To your success!
