Anyone Experience Any Success With Solo Ads?

I find them to be very much like e-mail versions of traffic exchanges everyone clicks on each ad to earn credits to post their own ad and the cycle repeats. But that said I have made a few sales, gotten a few sign ups and have gotten quite a few leads from using them so I guess they work depending on what you are offering and how you use them. FYI, my results were few and far between meaning it was hit or miss many times I e-mailed thousands of people and got no response but several times I’ve sent messages out to hundreds and got varying results.

Listjoe comes to mind but there are probably countless other methods to send solo ads out.

I've heard some great things about solo ads however I would be more interested in purchasing a mailing from a big time marketer with a huge list. I haven't it yet but plan on doing it pretty shortly here and when I do, I will be using a site called UltraSwaps.com

Anyone else had success doing a solo ad or JV Swap?

    Abso-freaking-lutely.

Solo-Ads are, the SIMPLEST way to build a targeted
list in a very, VERY VERY short period of time.

    And...

you can do a lot of mailings back to back if you have
a good offer and a solid OTO or back-end because...

it covers the expenses of doing them and acts as a
    funded-proposal, so...

if you do it RIGHT, you'll NEVER lose money and the
very least breakeven on each campaign (or, if you're
really good profit from each campaign).

A list can grow exponentially because of this single
    highly leveragable asset.

I've done many mailings and I've never come across a
BAD mailing. In each instance, I did a TON of research
on EACH person BEFORE committing to a mailing.

The *dark-side* is that it's possible to spend $100+ a
mailing and get sucky results. Not necessarily because
of the mailer, but because of a less than targeted offer
    or a *not-so-good* back-end or OTO.

...or just poor sales ability to convert leads into buyers.

Anyways, I can go on for days about it it's that good...

Oh, and I've tried safelist *solo ads*.

Listen, the QUALITY of the traffic matters a big freakin'
deal. Safelist traffic is *crap*, and it's hard work trying
to convert enough of the traffic into leads and sales...

those, as Shane put it, aren't *REAL* solo ads. It's just
a one-time blast to group of cheapskate and untargeted
    leads.

You can find solos here in this forum, other forums,
    Charlies Directory, etc.

  • I don't think most people understand what a solo ad is. You simply pay another marketer to send your email to their list nothing more. In this solo ad you should promoting your squeeze page and giving away something for FREE. Not promoting your sales page. Most people do not buy stuff from someone they don't know. And solo ads are incredibly powerful way to get targeted leads if you contact someone in your niche. There are tons of ways to find people to run solo ads for you. Article directories, online forums, clickbank, facebook pages or groups, and google searches with your niche and " i respect your privacy" as this will target people who are already list building. I would also try to monetize your solo ad with a special offer after they opt in to receive your free offer. Solo ads are awesome for people who have no list yet as it only takes cash.

It depends on the niche of course. I've actually had better luck with buying ad space on blogs than I have had with purchasing solo ads from other list owners in my niche. So what I'd suggest is to test it out (NOT listjoe but real solo ads) and also test some other methods of paid traffic like blog ads to see what gets you the best results.

Sending solo ads particularly to subscribers of targeted niche publishers is a very powerful and cost-effective marketing tool. Check out the JV forum for list owners. It's essential to match up your product with the targeted prospect list, and have a fully tested conversion funnel system in place.
