Hi Warriors.

Quick question.

How do I make my Facebook page so that people need to "Like" it before getting to see it? Can this be done?

Thanks a lot!

    This is a hidden tab feature. I think member Peter.Max has a WSO about that (not affiliate link) and others might, too.

    You can create a landing tab that people have to "like" your page to see the content on that tab.

    PM me your contact info if you need help

      Is this the drop down box in the "Manage Permissions" area? Default Landing Tab?

      If I set this to my iFrame, does it mean the visitors need to "Like" before they can see it?

      Thanks

    Search Google for 'Facebook iframe reveal tab code' and you will find plenty of tutorials. It's not that hard to do you just need to follow some very simple steps.

    And yes, the default landing tab will determine which tab visitors to your fanpage land on first.

      Yeah I set my landing page to what is basically a squeeze page using an iFrame.

      The problem is that the visiting "non-fans" can still see the page content without "Liking" the page.

      Will these tutorials help me with that?

      Thank you.

        Yes, they sure will. You have set the default landing page to your squeeze page. Now you need to create another page that the non-fans will see before they click the 'Like' button. Once you have those two pages go and find the tutorials I was talking about and it will show you how to set it up so that visitors only see the second page after they have clicked on the 'Like' button.

          Awesome, I'll give it a go.

    I just want to make sure you're understanding this. You cannot create an iframe tab and have it visible to only "fans". You can create an iframe tab and then through a script ran wherever the iframe source files are, you can create content that does not get shown until a visitor clicks "like"

    In other words, you cannot go into Facebook and make your iframe only visible to fans. This is controlled outside of Facebook

      Okay, I'm not 100% sure what you mean. Sorry.

      Let me explain what I did from the start.

      I download a free template from the War Room. Edited it using an HTML editor, uploaded it to my server with FTP.

      Then used a video tutorial that came with the template. This made me create a FB app and add the app to my page.

      When I did this I made my landing page as the app, where my edited template shows up.

      The problem is that the visiting "non-fans" don't need to like the page to see the wall and the info etc. how do I do that.

      Here is my page to have a look at to see what I mean.

      I'm sorry for being a pain. I'm just a bit dumb when it comes to the techie stuff.

      Thanks a lot!

        Ok, that helps a lot - and no need to be sorry, just pay it forward whenever you can help someone here

        What you have looks like a single html file. What you need are two separate files and a script. To make a long story short, the script sits wherever your files are on your server. It talks to fb and determines whether or not the visitor is a fan or not. Depending on that answer it either loads your "fan" page or your "non-fan" page.

        Here is a tutorial - if you can edit files and ftp and follow it exactly it should work without problems. It's how I learned how

        How To Create A Variable Content App For Your Facebook Page | Photography Business and Marketing - Zenologue

        I think the easiest way (following this tutorial) would be to make a copy of your html file and on the "non-fan" copy simply take out your opt-in and put in some wording/graphic letting visitors know they can receive their info once they like the page. This will make more sense if you are able to follow the tutorial.

        Hope this helps

          Brilliant. That's cleared everything up. I'll be sure to pay back the forum soon.

          Thanks!

    There's an FBML code for displaying content to only people who have made the connection with your tab, combining that with the default tab will work.. by the way great work in doing it..

    The most effective use is using a giveaway.. first saying like the page to get access.. then have them complete an opt in form subscribing to your list.. then you have them in your AR + on your facebook feed which are a strong team

    Find the old fbml tab and add it then use this:

    /* Content to display before liking */
    <fb:fbml version="1.1">
    <fb:visible-to-connection>

    /* Content to display after liking */
    </fb:visible-to-connection>
    </fb:fbml>

    Another way (if you want to keep it HTML) is add 'Static HTML' to your page. You should be able to search it in the search bar.

    Hope This Helped!
