What's the most expensive product you've paid for?

I think that there are a lot of people who think that they need to spend a lot of money on high end products. I think warriors are so lucky with WSO's because else where similar info would be sold for much higher prices and still get conversions.

So what was the highest priced info product/coaching you paid for and was it worth it?

The most I've ever paid was $201 (3 x $67 instalments) for a product creation bootcamp.

    Absolutely worth every cent.

A common mistake for beginners is that they spend too much on a product thinking that IM tools are the key to success on this endeavor. True enough, having one will give you a jump start but they are not actually required. I spent a few dollars for articles I used on my previous campaigns and I can say that they were all worth it.

My lifetime membership to Earn1KaDay has probably been the most expensive thing I've paid for in my business.

Also, it was the best investment I made in my business because I'm getting so much success just from being a member there. I've had partnerships form, product ideas put into place, and so many other things that I couldn't begin to name them all in a forum post.

Login Frequency Marketing, it's a membership site software, there is also a Traffic Exchange one that I use that is a turn key Traffic Exchange software, the latest one I created using it costed me $60 to outsource the graphics and the price of the software license, and generated over $6,000 in just the first week... The Traffic Exchange software for the 21st century

If you decide to go this route though - unless you know someone who can do PHP programming for you already you will need to work with a programmer, a lot of people try and launch these out of the box and fail, they need a programmer to work in some key unique feature set that will give their site an advantage in this over-saturated market.

I make about $90 commission per sale of that script, + an average of $400 per user who buys my pre-made mods I programmed for it to improve it to make it more branding, social marketing, and seo friendly, in addition to custom work

I spent $2,000 on a course. Well worth it because it helped to get me serious in my business. $2K was a lot of money back then, still is today, but I knew that I had a lot invested and there was no turning back now.

Definitely agree about the WSO. Lot's of great information there for a great price!

$2,500 was a complete waste of my money, but not my time. Why? Because you can only ask for what you know, and they can only answer what you ask. Confused? How would your questions differ having say, 5 years worth of knowledge as opposed to 5 months? Think about questions that were in your head when you first started to those that you think about today. As for the mentor, he didnt help me. To him, I was probably just "another dreamer".

$3,000 sales letter. Didnt make one sale. Proved to me that if your product sucks, it SUCKS, regardless of your copy. Its pointless sprinkling glitter on a dog turd.

$6,000 IM coaching program. Another experience resulting in total frustration and NO results. This was the reason behind me losing $15,000 in Adwords in 3 months.

Am I worried about any of this. No.

I know Ill get it all back, and some

In an IM context, I think a year's hosting with TypePad Pro (maybe $140?) is the most expensive thing I've ever bought. (And that's not even a "product", is it? ).

I don't think I've ever bought an expensive IM product at all ... I can't actually think of anything I paid over $50 for. I think I've bought a couple of $97 Clickbank products through my own affiliate-link, to review them, potentially to promote them as an affiliate ... but that's about it. I've never really needed anything expensive, and wouldn't know how to use any "software products" anyway.

Oh ... well: I've also bought online four or five trading books by Joe Ross (not e-books) at prices between $150 and $200 each. But they had no connection with my IM business, though they're potentially worth their weight in gold to anyone interested in daytrading.

At the start of this year I paid $2k for some video marketing software by a young 'guru' with a great copywriter and promises of $30k a month. Obviously, I realise that you have to be realistic but I think it's reasonable to expect to make back $2k/month for something that costs and promises so much (as long as you put the work in, of course)

The refund period was only 30 days and there were a few technical glitches in the beginning which meant I couldn't make the most of the software during that time. Still, I persisted and followed the instructions but hardly made anything. Then a few months later the software was 'suspended' due to copyright issues and members were told to wait for an updated blueprint.

Waited a few weeks and heard nothing back, emailed the vendor to explain my concerns and was told that an updated blueprint was imminent. After another month or so of logging in every day to see if the update had come through, I noticed a new video in the members area. Sadly, that wasnt the new blueprint that I'd been waiting for either. A few weeks ago there was a new update but TBH it doesn't feel like I've been given a fully functioning blueprint, rather a mixture off different ideas that are not what I originally signed up for. There has been minimal communication from the vendor, not even regular emails to let me know when updates have been added.

The latest video on his members site states that his programmer has just had a baby boy and isn't doing any work for a while so he's looking for someone new. Not really what I want to hear when I've spent $2k of my hard-earned cash and made about $20 back.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that during all of this, he has had the nerve to send me emails to promote other high end products. I'm going to keep plugging away until the end of June (6 full months) and then contact him to show him my results. If he isn't able to show me a way of making a regular monthly income then I'm going to be asking for my money back.

If anyone can tell which product or marketer I am talking about and would like to share their experience then please PM me.

Definitely realised that since purchasing the previously mentioned software. At first I thought this guy's software was amazing but since joining WF I've realised that there are a lot of warriors selling a lot of amazing software for MUCH lower prices.

The sad part is that there are a lot of people (myself included) who are happy to pay for quality as long as it does what it states in the sales material, and equally importantly, the vendor actually aims to build a relationship with you and help you succeed long-term. Surely people realise that even from a purely commercial POV, building relationships with your customers and making sure they are happy will make you more money in the long-run...??

ramone_johnny, you make some really good points with your positive attitude!

I agree completely with your comments about the 1hour IM coaching. When I first started in IM, which is only a few months ago, I just didn't know which questions to ask. I didn't recognise whether a product was suited to me, whether it was necessary, was it a rehash of another product or whether I could get it free elsewhere. Because I didn't understand the jargon, I could not properly assess any product, site or situation.

Last night, I had a 1 hour complimentary phone call about my business (not actual coaching) and felt that I understood it and had the knowledge to ask appropriate questions. Naturally, an opportunity for coaching was being offered to me but I could now make an informed decision.

I'd do things quite differently next time around. Like you, I don't regret anything because I learnt something at each step.

Did you get your money's worth from the coaching? Ouch for the adwords cost. Hope you made plenty from that.

I bought an info product online that was $50,000 some years ago. My wife still gives me static about it, even after five or six years. Not one of my wisest investments I will admit.

I met the fellow I bought it from here on WF a year or so ago, but I have not seen him since.

That was back in the days when we had money and invested in real estate. It was a three day program to teach us a new way of buying and selling real estate and taking a cut out of the middle. There were about 55 of us that took the course.

The $50K didn't include my transportation and logging for the duration of the program. So it ended up costing me more than that. And as it turned out, it wasn't one of my better ideas. But I wasn't the only one that couldn't make it work in my area.

You are right, talk about the value of a list, which is where the fellow that sold us on the program was able to generate those sales.

This fellow managed to connect with a real estate investor that was doing things a little different and making a lot of money. They put this program together and then held a webinar and sold us on it.

So, bottom line it was a lesson in JV and working your list.

I just dream of the day I could do something like that, but I keep struggling with much simpler things.

I think it's important to take something positive from each bad experience that life throws at you. In my case I've learnt that it is possible for any marketer to turn something simple but effective into a high-end product and make a lot of money in a short space of time. The hungry buyers are already out there, you just need to market it effectively and then make sure you provide good value to to your customers. And I plan on practicing what Im preach in future!!!

It really is a bummer to hear some of the bad stories about people losing money after investing into expensive IM programs or hiring "guru" coaches and then never seeing a return, or if they did, a small return not near their investment. Especially when you know that some of these people probably worked the system exact to specification, but in all reality, the system was just setup to sound good, but not produce the results that were promised. I also invest into tools, tools that allow me to expand on, and do my own research. I like to discover my own ways to make money, even by trial and error. When I sell something to someone, or help them, I always make sure it is something that I did used or did exactly the same as they will.

I paid $2,000 for a course on a subject I already knew but the "guru" had some really good sales copy that I fell for. Got the course, (it was mailed to you), and after 5 minutes thought about getting a refund but decided I didn't want to be one of those people. I made a bad choice, so it was up to me to live with it, not his fault he suckered me in.

Now I'll buy the odd WSO, read it and think, man I fell for it again. I feel horrible for newbies who buy everything because they don't know any better. So much of success online is the stuff between your ears and what your own confidence in what you're doing. (meaning not quitting after one failed attempt like so many do).

(meaning not quitting after one failed attempt like so many do).

sometimes, i think where i'd be if I stuck with a certain method.

I too switch around often but still make a decent amount of money. I do feel that certain methods are making me more and it is important to test this out.

(Domain Flipping is my favorite method but I realized I hate sharing stuff that makes me the most money)

Now I am building my list and hope to have a big product launch this summer.

WP Mage...$1,000..but i've made money on it. But i've wasted money on small stuff plenty of times.....i think anytime i bought or spent time on a product that provided a "trick" or "secret method" or something it was a waste of time implementing it.

Paid for some indian content writing. He wrote 15 articles and they were such garbage. I spent more time converting one to turn it into correct english than if I just wrote it myself from scratch. Only $50, but worthless

  • I was member of some membership sites that charged $400/month and others that were $100/month. Really good value, considering the quality of materials and members there. I even modelled my new business on just that.

SEObook.com - expensive but frackin awesome and great value for money. Aaron Wall is a super guy and replies to 95% of threads in a very busy private community forum. Content is incredibly good. SelfAssemblySites is based on SEObook model because I love what Aaron has done... highly recommended.

ReplaceMyself.com - good info for outsourcers and training your GUYS

For me the most expensive was probably BTF and it was the best money I have spent on IM in a long time.

I have bought many short and concise .com domains and built traffic to and monetized through retail like musicwear.com and drumming.com. I've paid anywhere from a few thousand for some of them up to over $10K for one recently. I've been able to get a good return on most of them. There are still some that I haven't gotten around to yet.

The most expensive online marketing software I've paid for is SEO Link Vine. Paid $67/mo for six months and then $500 one-time fee. Biggest waste of money and time I've ever spent. I would explain more as to why, but I think that would be more appropriate in thread more relevant to LV.

$999 for Hitesh's software. I didn't find it helpful at all. Asked for a refund and got it. The bad part about it was I liked Hitesh and he appears to know what he's talking about.

I paid $800 for a website that I never got from a guy on flippa. In the process of getting a refund. I have spent $500 for Tristan Bulls "1 on 1 coaching". So far it's just video tutorials and email support. So idk about the personal 1 on 1 coaching part. We shall see.

So what was the highest priced info product/coaching you paid for and was it worth it?
Zip. I obtained an affiliate product to host in my niche for free by e-mailing them and providing site verification. No WSOs, which is not a knock on them, they're just not for me. The only thing I've spent money on is my new .info IP and a host package to launch it from with Wordpress.

Later I want to spend money on a few projects, but my rule I've been following is that I don't spend anything I haven't first made through IM. So far that money's come from Warrior for hire projects and copy writing, rather than my site itself, but its all good seed money to channel back into my own IM efforts as I go.

I guess my biggest spend would be my running oDesk.com account.

    It's currently at $8,530.

Totally worth it though, that's 2,335 hours I have saved in my opinion!
