What is the future of Internet Marketing?

Marketing is the game... it will never die. The internet is just
another medium in which to market. I don't see the internet
dying any time soon.

The basic principles haven't changed much since 1999

i.e. Find a niche --> help them solve a problem --> charge for the solution

Sure the tools have gotten more sophisticated we didn't have skype, youtube, facebook etc so we will get more and more tools that make connecting easier.

Scammers will come and go, products will start getting slicker and more polished. Compare an internet marketing product to a self improvement or a fitness DVD most of the time our quality is pretty subpar to those much older and more established markets

People will always be looking for a way to make money the key is to stay on top of the trends and help them solve their problems, barring something horrible that brings us back to the stone age I don't see the internet ever going away (it will evolve and grow but the general concept of an interconnected world will be quite hard to give up)

I agree. As with everything, IM will evolve, but if you learn the fundamentals, and roll with the changes, you can create a stream in income that will last all your life.

The key is always keep learning and reinventing yourself.

The pages you build today will NOT be successful 20 years from now, but if you keep improving them and improving your technique, then you will continue to be successful in 20 years. Does that make sense?

I completely agree. I believe internet marketing will only continue to advance and perhaps get more complicated or more simple for some individuals and I won't be surprised if a new social media site gets created where internet marketers can monetize even further.

The tools we use will change for sure. It will get more competitive in one day and easier in another. Unless people stop using the internet all together, I don't see internet marketing dying.

As we progress, there will definitely be more sophisticated tools and software which should hopefully make life a whole lot easier for us internet marketers. however, the basic principles will always be the same.

1. Find a hungry niche
2. Find a suitable product for that niche
3. Give them the product.

The steps involved in getting the above steps may changed but the principle will always remain the same.

I have fully understood you. Well, change is the only constant and nobody knows what lies ahead but I think IM will not be dead few years or many years from now. Only that there will be lots of changes due to the advancements of the technologies, not to mention lots of people will be doing Internet Marketing as well.

So, it would be a great challenge because you will be having lots of competitors now.

IM is a very broad term. If I may put my 2 cents in, I am not sure if CPA will still be a very good way of earning money for the next coming years.

If IM will be dead, lots of people will be affected especially us who are working for Full time internet marketers abroad.

The Internet will be a very different place in time..... more like the real world.

More regulations, more unnecessary laws, less freedom, you may need an annual license to even go online.

and the big companies will dominate the search engines, making it very hard for the little guy to get ahead.

A lot more will change as everything is getting more connected to each other. New stuff will eventually come and overthrow social media then that will eventually be part of everything again. But marketing will never go a way. Just adapt and go with the times. Youll be fine.

You can't predict how the internet will evolve in time, or how IM will change. The only thing you can do is to stay on top of your game. Know the market, try to see the trends, stay up to date with all the news.
As long as you stay nimble and ready to change, you will be OK.

In in the 20th century with the addition of latest technology the whole concept of online marketing has gained a definite dimension with the added techniques like Pay Per Click, Search Engine Optimization, Press Releases, Web Banners, Link Campaign, Viral Marketing, Blogs etc. These started working as a curtain opener in the field of marketing whilst using the Internet.

Internet marketing is great... as well as offline direct mail which we do in a different business.

Marketing in general is a great industry to be in. And I believe in order to get the MAXIMUM leverage, the MAXIMUM amount of "eyes" on your offer, you must have different sources of contact: Online and Offline. Not everyone will agree with me on this... to each his own.

But I think the internet will evolve to greater heights, and so will mobile marketing. There will be others to come as well...

Learn marketing, keep up to date on what's going on in the marketplace, new technologies, etc., and you'll be ahead of the game.

Actually, the basic principles of marketing haven't changed since cavemen were trading bits of woolly mammoths.

Identify a hungry market, find a product that meets their needs, and work up an irresistible sales pitch.

That will probably be much the same a thousand years from now - no matter how much technology changes.

75% of the internet marketing is done via Google and they have well established network out there and which seems to be in danger because of facebook popularity.

When it comes to future of internet marketing I can say that since the users of internet are increasing day by day there are more chances that we can expect more in internet marketing in the coming days.
