Hi warriors,

Need your help on this:

I don't want the tags to show for every post that I make because I feel that the tags look disorganised. Can I make it not to show?

I don't want it to show both on the teaser post and the full post..

Regards,

Muhammad Noor

just for the record, I don't use tags - just categories. If you're going to use tags, make sure they're different from your categories

I thought tags are necessary in order for search engines to find relevant keywords for your post?

You mean you want it to show at a specific page, and not at the other?

If so, you can either not add tags, or alter the code in the design editor.

I don't want it to show at all..

Are the tags important for my post to rank well in the search engines? If not, then I just don't add the tags at all..

tags aren't necessary. The search engines still pick up on category names as keywords, as well as the text in the post

Yep, agree with you.. The tags clutter the page..

I'm already using categories and the post titles as the keyword phrase that I want to target..

    Hello Muhammad Noor,

Well you can use still use tags for SEO,
and make your theme tweaked so it does
    not show with every post....
and only place a tags widget in your sidebar for
search engines and visitors to find the tagged content.

Not all wordpress themes display the tags. So you can use them but they are not shown on the site

MudMat yes you can make these tags not show. You will probably have to go into your theme files to edit the main page or whatever its called in your theme and then locate it and highlight and just back space and you should be fine. Before doing this though make a back up of your theme if you are not all the experienced.
