Google Places - two businesses at one address

Looking for some help with two businesses at one address. Originally, one of them had an incorrect phone and address and no way to claim it. I changed address and phone and claimed both listings. It created a duplicate listing. Reported the duplicate listing for a period of months, then it took the information from one listing and copied it into the other AND dropped me out of administration. Had to claim both again. Ran into some red-tape, still working on it. Was planning to designate one "suite A" and the other "suite B" as soon as I got back in to both, but was told that it must be according to USPS addresses. Is this correct? Then, Google dumped all of my custom info out of BOTH listings and one has dropped off of the face of the earth, leaving only the incorrect duplicate listing stating "business perminantly closed." Also, reviews being brought into both of these are jumbled between the two. To make things worse, one of the business is planning to change names! Any help in straightening this mess out would be greatly appreciated!

  • P.S. I know that Google has a policy against two businesses at one address. But that's the way that this one is. There has to be a work-around . . . right?
  • Can't you make a *suite* number? If it's your residential home, can you specify a "Suite 1A" and a "Suite 1B" or something similar.
Where I live, few businesses have unique street addresses.

    • That's what I was going to do when I got back in to both accounts, but then I was told that it had to match the USPS mailing addresses. - I was thinking that going accross all profiles everywhere and designating them separate suite numbers would fix the problem. - Maybe there's hope in that?

  • You can still enter the street addresses of an independent PO Box service and find a dozen businesses listed for that address, perhaps they are left over from when it was easier.

    • I think that this might help. However, it is very important for these businesses . . . salons . . . to have an accurate address listed. Thanx though.
  • Go to the post office. They will have a form to fill out to add a second address to the location. They may refer you to the zoning board. Depends how the town or county handles new addresses.

  • Google is fine with multiple businesses at one address. Just look up a UPS mailbox in a big city, and you often find many businesses at the same address - all listed in Google Maps without any problems.
