How to promote my software?

Can someone help me suggest me any ways to promote my software?
I have already submitted the pad to many download sites. I want more than 1 million downloads.

    There is no quick solution to get you 1 million downloads, minus a massive ad campgain which costs a lot of money. The reality of things is you are going to have to promote it with articles, blogs and possibly traffic exchanges. Also it depends on what type of software it is, what function it has etc. You want 1 million downloads but tell us nothing about it. I'd vote for finding a professional marketing person

    Create a WSO and give it away. You can also build a list at the same time. Encourage people who subscribe to tell their friends to also subscribe. If the software is any good it might go viral and you could be the next Bill Whatshisname...

    • Is the market large enough for 1 million downloads?
    • 1 million downloads in what time frame?
    • Does it have a USP that will crush the market?
    • Do you have a sales letter/testimonials?

    Forget first in getting 1 million download of your software. Focus on how to get that 1 million downloads. My question is, does the software is really that attracting and interesting? Did you promote it in the right track? Think about it and ask if your strategy is great enough to get 1 million downloads.
