Im working on my site (using wordpress ). I have seen on some sites how few lines of featured articles appear on home page. So you click on "read full article" to be directed and read it. Can it be done automatickly or do i have to do it manually.I was looking for the answer from the internet but all i could find was how to make stiky posts. I hope,you understand what i mean (english is not my first language) and thanks for any help

    It's under settings and reading I think in your wp admin panel.

    There's also some wp frameworks like thesis theme that allow for this and a picture on the front page.

      Hi Eleanore,

      If you type this bit of code -

      <!--more-->
      ...into the text of your post (with the editor switched to HTML mode) at the point where you want to finish your snippet, then it will cut the post off at that point and add a 'Continue Reading' link after the snippet when it shows on the home page.

      You can decide how many post snippets to show on the home page by going to -

      settings > reading > 'blog pages show at most _ posts'

      Does that help?

        Not everyone's a coder.

        Simple solution Eleanore . . .

        Wordpress plugin: post-teaser

        I've used this for some time.

        I hope this is what you meant. If you're not sure, visit my blog (below), and the first page you land on should be displaying partial blogs as you described.

        Happy blogging.
