Am I doing something wrong?

It seems every time I create a thread that encourages members to engage in a Q&A style conversation with me it gets deleted it happened once and I thought because I mentioned my blog it was considered advertising.

I recently started another thread only revealing valuable information and giving individual coaching and tips to people asking for it, I never mentioned any product or my blog and after about 10 "thanks" and 20 questions and 45 minutes the thread was deleted

Am I missing something? Is it against the rules of the forum to help? Or is the Q&A that is the problem? Is that not what a forum is for?

a public meeting place for open discussion

How can we have open discussion when discussion is not encouraged?

No idea why your thread was deleted either Jeremy.

I was really disappointed it was deleted too.

Just got this in my inbox

"I was reading a thread you had posted regarding asking you questions. This seems to be the second time administrators remove the full thread. I'm really at a loss at why. But, I honestly have some deep questions and would like to have some real discussions with you. As I myself am building my own strategies."

someone doesn't like me helping and answering questions in detail, and it obviously isn't the readers of the forum

Don't take it personally. Everyone gets threads deleted now and then, I wouldn't worry about it.

Someone might have posted inappropriate comments in the thread, for example.

    Jeremy,

Threads that are dedicated to a single person taking over a topic get deleted. We treat them the same way we treat "follow me" threads.

Don't take it personally. I've deleted at least 5 threads in the past few days where someone has said "Ask me whatever questions you'd like on XYZ." Including one with a title in the format of "Arnie's Adwords Answers."

They have almost always ended up being adverts for some product or another. And they go on and on, usually long past their supposed usefulness. These may not be the intent of the OP, but they happen nonetheless.
