FTC Rules for non-US citizens

I don't leave in US nor do I do business there. I am not even a citizen. Does the FTC affects me? If it doesn't, which internet monetary rule do I need to take note of?
I know my country's ethic rules.

If you use Paypal it does or and company you do business in the USA in most cases there would be some contact on how the FTC would have over your business.

I don't use Paypal as they don't allow my country. I sure don't sell ANY PRODUCT on my blog only on my niche sites which don't have anything to do with my main blog. The best I do is promote the service I provide...all the earnings I report on my blog are from other services or niche sites.

I am not really worried about the rules because I don't do anything illegal. I just received a mail from a warrior today taking about how Frank Kern was screwed and I read frank's account on his blog. So I wonder if I am affected since I don't leave in the US.

I know learning and applying the rules will help me be on the safer side at least and I appreciate your advises.

Exactly.. You still have to oblige and follow the rules and guideline of the FTC rule. Always be safe than sorry.

Actually, I was under the impression, that you didn't have to follow the FTC rules unless your business was actually based in the US.

However, I actually do follow the FTC policy myself on all of my sites, cause it's not hard to do and you can find pre-made templates, that you can copy and paste to your site. I think there's even a wordpress plugin, that can generate disclosure- and privacy policy pages for you.

There's a thread on the subject here, where both the wordpress plugin and where to find ready-made templates are mentioned

From what I read on frank kern's site's site, it more than using a plugin to get around it. I think it more about the approach to business and some fine prints which are pretty much very important. He did write on his site that he had a disclaimer on his site and was still screwed.

For me, I will just read as much about it and play the game correctly. Like you've all said, I guess it's much easier to work by the rules than regret ones action.
