New here/ kinda a newbie

I'm getting pretty darn good with CSS design and decent with PHP/MySQL. I currently work with a few clients for web management but it's always been a side thing - I'm looking to step it up.

I'm not a newbie when it comes to IM... I've always supported myself from my web development and marketing my blog sites... but I want to step it up to 5 figures per month - I have a ways to go.


I'm thinking about doing an ebook (I have a bit of writing experience) - in my line of work I have a lot of experience with outsourcing, so I think I could do well to write a book about how to outsource effectively (using guru.com, etc.).. so, I can write that, give it a catchy title, etc.

I'm going to learn as much here as I can about promoting this stuff. I believe I have all the necessary skills to do well in this industry, I just need to focus my energy in the right places.

SO... I just wanted to introduce myself - and if anyone wants to give me some tips or whatnot, that would be awesome!


About me: 26 years old, graduated from a decent school - just supporting myself with income from a few clients. I'm working on a very big web project with a team of a few people, but that's still being developed and may take a while to produce much income for me (although I have a lot of confidence in it, I think it's a game changer, maybe I will discuss it here whenever it launches!).

    Also, it looks like there's a lot of cool stuff in the WSO forum.. I wonder how much it would cost to get a successful campaign going for an ebook.

    Should I give some of this stuff a shot? Any recommendations?

      thanks! I appreciate it, and I will take a very long look here. I actually found this forum from looking at the alexa top 100 sites in the US... a nice find I think!

    Also, being decent with design/wordpress/web stuff in general - it might be cool to collaborate on something with someone who has marketing experience... I'm the kind of person who is willing to do a lot of the legwork with the right guidance

    Interesting, I think your eBook can succeed, but you need to learn a lot about marketeing it, I recently became a vendor and I can say creating the product is only 30% of the process. Marketing it is the hard part.

      Thanks! And yeah, I know the marketing will be the tough part, seems like that's how it is with most businesses. Writing comes easy to me, but I want to make sure I have a good marketing plan before I commit time to writing.

        That's the right attitude, what you say. It's easier to marketing your product, if your market research is appropriate.

        It's important to assess the demand for your ebook and analyze your competition in advance, to get a correct picture about your possibilities.

    Welcome to the forum, well I just want to say that with internet Marketing that you need to stay focused and that you need to make sure that you can meet all of your goals and that way when you finish them that you will be able to happy.

    You like to write and going by your post are a pretty good writer, you could write a few short, keyword focused articles, between 4 and 5 hundred words, submit them to article directories, there's a thread with the top five listed, and link back to the affiliate programs you have had success with.

    You will need to get a domain name and forward and mask it so the article directories will accept it. 'FAN3' is a 30% off code from GoDaddy for .coms.

      Article marketing
      Web 2.0
      Video marketing etc

    Marketing is actually very simple, the hard part is being consistent with your work! You sound super determined though, my advice is to surround yourself with the people that have the success you want! Don't be afraid to opt in on people's lists..even if you know they're pitching you to buy products all of the time study that and see what's making them successful! Obviously whatever they're doing works! Cheers!
