i had to rewrite the title 26 times and had to settle for "this is so confusing...", just tell me, i am seeing most people at WF are making money by sellingproducts which tell how to sell on WF... wow... how's that... tell others how to sell in the same market where they are selling... so just tell me... is the only job left for money making is to tell other's how to sell in their place?... but till when?... if a guy trains 100 people... and lets say only 10% follow his advice... means within no time there are 10 more sellers like him... competition grows and profits divided... lets assume if the seller shows he is making $1100 a month, and the next month 10 others have an equivalent product, which means $1100 gets divided into 11parts... each get $100 so... the seller made $1200 and rest only $100... so where is this all going...?... whats happening to the money... where is it all coming from and going to?...

well... this is so confusing...

  • It may seem an incestuous business but there is a new member along all the time.

    • thats for sure, but the seller still makes the highest, in this race... because the next month he has the 100 something reviews too...

You and I are seeing very different things: the forum has over 300,000 members, of whom I see very few selling products giving advice on how to sell things in this forum.

No. You're talking about what a small minority are doing. And that small minority is itself naturally strongly over-represented here, simply because this is itself an internet marketing forum, and therefore where traffic targeted for those marketers is already visiting.

I think that, to a great extent, you're finding it confusing because you're looking at it imagining that what you see is representative of the wider internet marketing community, which it isn't, at all. Countless members here (including myself) make our full-time livings in internet marketing without having anything much to do with selling products to other internet marketers.

  • Not everyone is going to sell what they've learned here, though.

Consider the consultant who builds optimized websites for the offline business client. He had to learn the strategies to best build those sites but he's not reselling what he's learned here on the WF (he could). Instead he's offering an IM Service/Product to those who haven't yet established an online presence (or a well optimized one).

The vast opportunities to use IM training goes far beyond selling IM products.

Perhaps an eBay seller wants to learn how to get more traffic to their auction page. They come here for the latest traffic techniques to apply to their business.

They may also know a few things that could help others get started in eBay or improve so they set up a WSO and sell that info.

Perhaps a software developer purchases how to WSO's to brainstorm new automation software ideas.

Some customers/students may later become IM info product developers, others are just interested in making a profit from their hobby. You just never know...

It's just like any educational venture. Not all the students will become teachers. And the teachers still have work.

    Hope that helps,

    Rashell

  • Wrongnumber,

Not quite sure but it sounds like you are describing somewhat of a pyramid scheme?

Actually, Tony said it best "there is a new member along all the time."

And that is what the original seller is promoting to his buyers, to sell his idea to the next generation of newbies. Then telling them to go out and duplicate his success by finding more newbies to sell the idea to.

Wait it minute, it does sound like MLM or a pyramid scheme, I see your point!

Anyway, the real way to make money is found in a variety of ways. Not just selling how to make money to people who want to know how to make money.

A real business model is in helping a person develop his business around the interests that he has and teaching him/her how to build that business.

For example, if one is knowledgeable in playing guitar, then teach him/her how to produce an instructional guide (or ebook) that teaches people how to play guitar. Then showing that person how to promote their guide using the internet as a media source.

I followed the same business model with a hobby of mine and turned it into a book that sold more than $30K in a year and a half.

So, there are other ways to make money without having to try and teach newbies to just sell make money ideas.

  • With so many new members joining each day, WSO's that teach others what the seller has done to be profitable on the WF will always be in demand. Many are case studies so you can see just how others have been successful.

However, there are MANY more topics covered in other WSO's. I also see "make money selling on the Warrior Forum" WSO's maybe once a week. Most of the WSO's are similar to others, but the good ones offer a fresh look, a twist to the usual method of doing something, or an extra trick that the others do not include.
  • While there are plenty of valid points to most of the replies....

You are fundamentally correct and thus really not all that confused.

I call it the GROTI market.

    Get Rich On The Internet.

The vast majority of the WSO's and internet marketing programs and packages out there are from people who have never turned a serious dime in any other space except GROTI. This forum has a huge following and is always growing plus this is just one of many GROTI focused marketing/sales platforms. GROTI is massive, one of the largest internet niches going and it has made tons of people very rich from Tim Ferris all the way down. All of the biggest IM names have made bundles in the GROTI space.

Its also largely baloney as you point out. Baloney as in it resembles a ponzi scheme in may ways. NOT baloney in that there is LOTS of money being made.

There are 3 giant, ever evolving and always growing markets online: Porn, Diet and Fitness, GROTI.

There are tons of niches for each of those.

    • Terry, that's quite the blanket statement considering you have absolutely no proof of those claims. You may need to rethink your beliefs because the Make Money Online (MMO) or GROTI as you call it is one of the smaller niches online.

I know a lot of people making $500,000 - $1,000,000 a month in other more obscure niches online and that's a fact. Also, what do you consider a serious dime? I think the vast majority would be happy with $5,000 - $10,000 a month but I never really researched that so I cannot say for sure. But what I do know is there are a lot of people (thousands) on this very forum making serious money every month and their WSO's are just another stream of income.

The MMO niche is not the only game in town. There are others that are much larger than this one that's for sure.

  • You have to remember this is a money making forum so all of the offers are going to be geared towards that niche.

That being said, take what you learn here and apply it to other niche markets outside of the Money Making Online (MMO) niche. There are a lot of other people doing just that and making a lot of money.

    Where to start:

Take it one step at a time... do not think you have to know everything before you begin. Pick a niche you are interested in, know something about and that makes money online. Do people buy stuff online in the niche you have in mind?

Write those ideas down. Next, do some simple keyword research to see if there are people actually searching for the kinds of things you want to provide. Do not worry about competition. Lots of competition confirms that people are buying in that niche.

Find the Big Players in your niche and take a look at their products. What kinds of problems are they focusing on? Focus on those same problems and start a blog about it. Create solid content in the niche.

After that, you might consider creating a simple information product to sell. Now comes the time when you need to learn about getting traffic, backlinking, seeking JV partners, etc.
  • I think it's because so many people are shoved into the Make Money Online industry many of them have no talent to market other than crating eBooks on the Make Money Online subject itself.
You can be innovative and come up with something different where competition is lower and appeal is bigger, however it will take more work, research and creativity.
  • Keep in mind also that even when two ebooks or WSO's teach the same subject, their take on that subject can vary widely. So not only are there obviously multiple subjects within the MMO category, there are 50 different approaches on each subject.
