What's a Good Guide For Creating an Affiliate Page?

I have my first product up at ClickBank (a video course) and have started getting affiliates promoting it. I actually didn't expect to get folks this quickly and as a result, find myself with not much to offer affiliates on my site. Click Bank sends their hoplinks to a sales page, but I currently have nothing else for them, like a set of banners, advice and information about the product, etc.

Is there a good checklist or guide out there someone can recommend so I can at least get a rudimentary page up quickly?

Here's what I have available to me on my site:
  1. Several banners (graphics only, no links attached)
  2. DL Guard and Wishlist Member
  3. Site is Wordpress, but I also own XSite Pro, Dreamweaver, & Photoshop, so some pretty good page-building resources at my disposal
  4. 34 affiliates through CB out there on their own with just a hoplink and a sales page on my site.
Any advice welcomed.

Cheers!

Ken

The lack of "affiliate gimmicks" didn't bother them, and may not bother other serious affiliates, so - above all - don't panic.

There's a kind of inverse concern, on this subject, typically: very often the 90% of affiliates who produce 10% of the affiliate-referred sales are the ones most interested in "what the vendor can provide", while the other 10% of affiliates (the more serious ones) who collectively produce 90% of the affiliate-referred sales are almost singularly disinterested in them. So don't imagine that their current absence is necessarily costing you very much.

That said, of course it's right to produce and offer them ... and to make them available to all affiliates without requiring them to opt in to see what you have on offer.

Banners of various standard sizes will doubtless be used by affiliates and may be "the first thing looked for", I think. (I can't believe you need to "attach links" to them).

Suitable autoresponder emails (which affiliates can always re-write slightly to suit their own lists) will doubtless also be used by some, and are probably a far more worthwhile addition than most things would be.

    Good luck!

There really should be a "show all posts by Alexa" button on the WF. She dispenses thousands of dollars worth of advice here every week.

    Yo Ken,

Check my affiliate area for my product and copy the source code boss. Feel free to swipe anything on the page at will. That goes for other Warriors too. This will give ya a template to go off of in Dreamweaver, then just replace my stuff with yo stuff!

Just make it easy to find and grab the code. Some affiliates will want banners; others will want an email or article. There has always been examples and code if you want to build an affiliate tools page in html.

I like to use WordPress for websites but it's not as easy because of the way WordPress can break code. So I built a plugin that makes it super easy on me and on my affiliates.
