After Panda -- Is Amazon doing better or worse?

I wonder if anyone has noticed Amazon doing better/worse/or the same for top product spots after Panda.

    Some sites will have dropped and some sites will have increased. Whenever there is an update like the recent panda update there is always winners and losers.

    In my opinion it will have nothing to do with the amazon sites. It has to do with the content you have on your website as well as the on page and off page factors you have.

    It also has to do with the backlinks you have pointing to your websites. Spammy links will have been either ignored or not counted as highly.

    The best thing you can do is to build out content rich review sites that add valuable content to the internet and well as value to the visitors who are searching. Add in some great on-page and off-page and you should have a great website on your hands.

      Some sites are completely independent of search engines altogether and quietly pulling in fortunes.

        That sounds a little cryptic ... and interesting, of course. Care to expand on it? Do you mean they don't get their traffic from search engines, but instead from social media, etc.?

    I am also not noticing any major change to amazon as panda had impact on sites and blogs using duplicate content.

      I had many sites ranked above Amazon pre-panda. Some now dropped below the Amazon site but those were for products where the Amazon product page had good on-page SEO. Nothing more quality backlinking can't overcome.

      I have noticed that for product names more direct vendor sites now are ranking higher than affiliate sites after the panda update.

      Anyone else notice that change?

      Well that's what I'm getting at -- now that Panda has knocked out a lot of sites, is Amazon doing better? In other words, is it harder to get above an Amazon listing these days?
