Will this work for IM, newbie wondering.

Hello Warriors
My name is Wayne. I am relatively new here and haven't posted much in the forum. I have mainly been reading the wealth of information and am greatly impressed by the generous help you folks afford newbie's like myself. This is why I am starting this thread. I am a complete newbie and need guidance. Forgive me if I violate any protocol since I just don't know all the proper etiquette for the forum.

March 19th of this year I had a stroke and although my Doctors expect me to fully recover I am still 62 years old and have had to overcome many obstacles on the road to recovery. In researching the type stroke I had I found no material that describes the experiences of other victims. I have seen nothing that is a firsthand account of how other victims overcome the limitations and needs they now have. It would have been very valuable to me during the early days of this event to have had some source of information to act as a guide for me and my family.

There appears to be around 4400 monthly searches for the niche keyword I think I would use and a low competition level for it, if I understand the keyword tool correctly.

Do you think this subject has any merit from an IM standpoint? Any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated. This will be my first attempt at IM.

Thank you all for your gracious indulgence.

Wayne

You seem very passionate about it, and could offer a place for other victims to gather online. So you can obviously provide value, and that's half the battle.

One option would be to slap some adsense ads on there, but that doesn't seem like it would be too profitable. Are there any products you can recommend to your visitors for a commission? If not, can you provide a solution to a common problem of stroke victims?

I am sure there must be Adsence type ads out there especially as most victims need assistive devices such as wheelchairs, canes and walkers at least for a while.

When u enter the keyword in google, is their a lot of adwords ads on the side? If so, there is a market or value to that keyword and worth pursuing. If not, use google's traffic estimator tool and see what the cost per click is for that keyword and thats approximately what you are going to make per visitor to that keyword. Then do your calculations. If say you have position #1 that gets 50% of clicks and google values that at 50 cents and it gets 4000 searches per month it means you are going to make about $1000/mn (roughly). Do not make the mistake most IMers make and think u know more of the value of a keyword than google. Rare.

If you are in doubt, run a few adwords campaigns and see what kind of traffic its producing.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

When I put the keyword into Google there were 8 Adword ads on the right side of the page.

      Thanks for your reply

I am a healthcare professional and resonate with your story well.
However, what's first needed is market research. It could pay to become participating members in local groups, online formuns, Support Groups, and Doctors groups.
Ideally you are in a good niche. You just have to find out what the people are looking for. And, it may not be the stroke victims, it may be the familiy members who have to deal with the stroke. It may not be the family but the doctors groups because they may need to introduce someone like you to make their presentation more effective.

There are angles to work all around

    Good luck

  • Hi MrWayne52. Wishing you the best in your venture. I for one have been totally blind for more than seven years now, and I've been running my ICT outsourcing company for more than five years now...

A forum sounds great for people suffering from complications due to stroke attacks. Their relatives, friends, colleagues and even possible employers would also find the forum an excellent resource of beneficial content...

You can market affiliate physical products helpful for their daily activities, affiliate assistive software products useful for their daily computing and Internet browsing needs and digital info products, affiliate products or your own, useful in guiding them to improve their lives, i.e Ebook or video course about how to start an online business to earn money online from the comfort of your home, or about working at home even when experiencing complications due to stroke attacks...

A forum gives them an online community where they can openly share their needs, problems and experience, even things which can be embarrasing when shared in face-to-face sessions. An online community frequented by people with similar needs, problems and experience would be an excellent resource of real life tips, techniques, strategies, info and advice useful for solving their problems and satisfying their related needs...

It can also be a great platform where they can talk to professionals with extensive specialized expertise in relevant subject areas...

Do you know if it's 4400 BROAD searches or 4400 EXACT searches? If it's broad, then it is of no use. There is a checkbox named EXACT in the Google Keywords Tool which you have to select after searching so that it filters only searches using the exact keyword and order.

    hey wayne,

first of all - i´m sorry for what you´ve gone through. i´m pretty sure this will work as most niches does. the thing is maybe just: is the average person suffering after a stroke still be able to search the internet? and if - they most probably look for information after that stroke and they try to recover. if so - i think that will work fine. you might need to create a product yourself to get a real value of it as i don´t know how many books (or other material) are out there for you to advertise. this is another point: do you have enough products? if so i think your experience and your way to recover will give people hope and guidance and make you earn some money. good luck and all the best!
