If you were starting up a website & blog with the goal of creating a QUALITY site full of great articles, interviews, photo galleries, etc.....how would you spend it?

How much $$ towards the web design?

Any tools/products/services you would buy? (i.e. SEnuke, market samurai, etc)

etc. etc..
#$10k #site #spend

To be more specific, the website I'm considering will be more AdSense based income-wise. Trying to get as much traffic as possible, and build a HUGE website with hundreds of pages. So I'm not too sure about dedicating 6-7k to purchase traffic....unless you have some reasoning?

adsense based income is horrible in my opnion.

6-7k would be a great investment to make with google adwords if you tested first and scaled...the landing page would promote some sort of niche and promote a CPA offer.

Bro.. u can' make enough money with adsense. Lets assume, if u have been successful in this. Then one day, u will get an email about ur adsense account termination. No reason will be given out there. Simple reason:

"Your adsense account is a significant Risk for our program"

I will suggest u, instead of investing for adsense based income, try to invest in CPA industry. You will get a better ROI than the adsense

    Cheers

CPA as in affiliate marketing? I seem to get confused everytime I see CPA getting mentioned...

If I really had $10,000 dedicated to spend on a web site, I'd redevelop my business plan and call in the experts to implement the web portion of it. I'd have a database driven site providing the information in my niche, and a long term maintenance contract in place (which would commit resources beyond the $10K development cost).

This direction is because I used to do exactly what I'd now be contracting out. In a "former life" I did web sites for a living. Today, I do them only for myself, providing a bit of outside "comment and consulting" for close friends. I no longer work on sites for anyone else. Too many headaches. With an extra $10K in my life, and the restriction I spend it on Web services, I'd be3 looking at a more capable, database driven site.

Contracting it out, I'd develop a business plan that includes the web presence, and find someone that can provide what I'd want with as minimal input from me as possible. I fully realize this essentially reduces the amount of local control I'd have myself, but could result in a mroe "hands off" approach and leave me more time to dedicate to other facets of my business. Now that I think about it, I could probably save more (in my personal time value) than the $10K in a year by outsourcing, so perhaps you've just put another item on my "to investigate" list.

In today's web terms, $10K is still a large chunk of cash. WordPress has made relatively simple sites easy and inexpensive to implement, and there are fewer truly competent full service web designers in the business as a result. You really need a specific plan to justify a $10K expense for web services for your company, but if you can, it is one that is usually worth the investment if you find the right webmaster/development firm.

I would get some pros to take a good look at it and see what they think could be spruced up. Maybe graphics, sales copy, functionality. Spend a few grand on that if it needs to be done and then i would spend everything else on seo building for long term adsense traffic.
10 k is a great deal of money to spend on an adsense site so i would think about adding other forms of monitization if i were you.

First off don't purchase traffic, 9 times out of 10 it will be useless traffic.

If you are going after adsense sites, seems like authority sites from what you are getting at then this would be my plan:

1: You don't need $10k (save the money and put it towards paying off a mortgage etc the bottom line is that your sites may not rank etc and you could literally be throwing away 10k, about 1k will do trust me)
2: Invest some money into SEO Link Robot - you don't need SENuke and Link Robot is pretty much just as good and they have a video upload module coming soon
3: Buy Scrapebox - don't use it for comment spam, just use it to find high PR blogs in your niche and then comment manually and create useful content
4: Sign up to a service like Build My Rank

In terms of SEO you have all you will need if you acquire the above products/services

I would then suggest you purchase "CTR Theme" for your websites (it's a warrior special offer at present I think) and then purchase this plugin - http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...on-plugin.html

Finally, for your content creation go onto oDesk or look through the warriors for hire section on this forum and then you'll be set to go.

That will only set you back a few hundred dollard as opposed to ten thousand and it's a proven strategy I have used to generate a fairly decent adsense income. Obviously you will need to keep creating websites and then your income will multiply in time.

Any questions then feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to answer them, same goes to anyone else needing advice.

Edit: You'll also need a couple of proxies and some decaptcher credits
