3 Things I Have Learned From My First Product Release

1. Don't expect instant riches - Even though your product may be good, you might be unknown, or relatively unknown to the community. The "if you build it, they will come" theory does not apply here. I am breaking even on my product and will make some money but like anything else in business, it's not easy.

2. Make Sure You Have Double and Triple Checked - I was really excited to release my product and then after it was listed, a few people noticed that my sales copy listed one price and my order button said another price, which obviously caused some confusion. Take every opportunity to make sure everything is correct. It will save you some headaches later.

3. Listen to Your Audience - A few people asked for or inquired about features that I hadn't thought of. If it makes your product better, make sure you listen to your audience. THEY know what they want. Don't be stubborn and offer them what YOU think they want/need.

    hey SG Tech

    yeah your right

the build it and they will come is nonsense but build it, promote it and they will come

ive recently released my first IM product and i having a product out there is great.

It does start off pretty slow untill people start to get to know you but ive done ok so far with sales and had some great feedback

when you get to around 500+ subs you can start doing list swaps and jv`s that will really help to build your list then

    cheers

OP, this is solid advice. I learned everyone of these lessons when I launched my first product, EVEN the part where my sales copy and button were different prices. Changed my mind partway through and forgot to fix both numbers, haha.

I would also like to add go into your first launch as a learning experience, not a fat paycheck. The learning experience is very important, and without remember that, it is easy to be discouraged when things didn't meet your expectations.

Looks like you learned a lot from your first launch! You have a great attitude, it's only a matter of time before everything works as well as you hoped. Great job!

    To your success,
    Steve

Thanks guys. It's only been less than a week but any lesson that one can take away from any experience has to be useful as long as you put what you have learned into practice!

Very good advice! This is why WF is so great. People are willing to share their experiences, which only helps make us all better informed.
