Newb Question - Affiliate Programs

Hi. I'm going to be launching a fashion accessories website in a couple of months and I wanted to find out if there is any benefit to signing up for more than one affiliate program.

Also, what affiliate programs do you recommend?

    You will need to test different programs to discover which returns the highest earnings for your particular site. Diversify your investment, sometimes payments just don't show up, affiliates are the last concern when a business goes into bankruptcy.

    I dont know about much in the fashion niche but the key to being successful, especially when you're new is to find a high ticket affiliate program. Ideally something that pays you more than $300 per sale or more. This will help you get some initial success right out the gates!

      Amazon has an excellent array of fashion products and clothing lines that sell well into the thousands of dollars. It is a highly competitive market, but also extremely lucrative. You can do well by specializing in a sub niche such as by demographic, brand or style etc.

        Amazon does have an excellent selection of well priced fashions and shoes (they own Zappos) so that is good one to use. However, shoes are one of the most returned items so you may want to focus on other areas.

        There are a lot of vendors of clothing so you will want to find ones that have the types of fashion you plan to specialize in. You would do well to use a few vendors and spread the risk so if one goes out of business (or as in the case of Amazon they stop allowing affiliates in your state) etc. you have other affiliate programs you are using.
