Yep.

You can use the audio as a podcast and create not only new leads but links to you're sites from podcast directories.

Also, you can package your content as audiobooks and sell them or package the content as an ebook and sell the audio package as an upsell.

Or, you could offer a weekly audio newsletter for a sign up. People are more inclined to listen to content in the car or in the gym on an ipod than read it.

So many ways to use content in audio format.

If you want to compile an audiobook for sale then it's worth the effort, of course!

Although if you just have a couple of articles on your website and want to make audio out of them for your free visitors then no, it's a waste of time. Who'd listen to audio articles? People don't have time for that.

Podcasting? If you're after building relationship with your listeners that's OK. But there's no real money in it. Podcasting takes away the possibility to order things right on the spot. Long sales letters, "overpriced" ebooks, article marketing etc. are all about impulse buying.

Stay away from podcasting and content sites with audio unless it's a paid membership site or you have a lot of time to waste.

Don't even use text to audio software. It all sucks, and you won't be offering added value to your customers, you will be offering crap to your customers.

Either have it professionally voiced and produced by someone who does this for a living or don't bother.

Using audio as content can be very useful and fast to produce.
In the beginning it might not sound great but if you practice enough
you will get better.
