Could this mini site creation tool be useful?

I got sick uploading with FTP. Often I upload something to wrong dir or overwrite something. So this morning I wrote a simple script which will take care of making a mini site, say 20 pages of content, seo friendly URLs, all pages interlinked. Basically it will make sites, which a fellow warrior successfully uses in his business model

I was wondering if I could develop it into a sellable product, freebie, or an open source project. I know this is inventing the wheel, but I like to have software that I have full control of and I am trying to get some complete newbies to get started on internet. I know I should teach them some basic HTML rather than providing a shortcut. Oh and they have no idea how to install WP. So, what do you think of this? I made it so I can update my site online, without having to install any 3rd party software. Do you think anyone else could use this? Everything is done using 2 files, htaccess (to handle mod_rewrite) and content.php (to take care of content management). I need to work on CSS later. I also intend to add a WYSIWYG editor. So once I upload those to my friends site, they can start working on site without any other tools or knowledge.

This sound's great, I don't see why you couldn't make it in to a sellable product? Just make sure the benefits are good and it's value towards customers and it should sell like a bomb.

May I ask how come you got fed up with FTP up loader? Was it just the one that gave you problems or all? My one doesn't seem to bad although I have only uploaded 3 or so files.

But I like your idea, Well done I look forward to seeing this finished.

You'd just have to make sure that your product brings something new to the table.

      Thanks.
The main reason for giving up FTP. I have 250 domains. It takes time to find the domain directory on the server. Then find where I have that file on computer. Sometimes I get an idea and want to update the site while I am away from my computer. So I can just log in to my site and do it from anywhere, internet cafe, friends computer or my daughter's laptop etc. Or I can even call someone and ask them to edit the page for me. Sometimes I want to update 10 or 20 sites at the same time, so I get confused and loose time switching between the file folders on my PC and server.
