Being overly aggressive on Facebook - had enough already, thanks anyway

Heads up - -I don't know if someone is teaching this or not, but lately, people approach me on Facebook for joint ventures and Internet marketing events on Facebook. I reply "maybe" to some events of interest, and that I may be interested in a JV in a reply message to those of interest, but to allow me time to get caught up on the day's or week's deadlines with my teammates in order to check out the JV opportunity.

However, these recent people are super-pushy - - daily, in fact, to the point where I've had to block them and unfriend them.

So heads up: please, don't abusive; don't be pushy. Inviting someone to an event is fine. If they accept, back off. Don't invite them to a new event every day for the rest of their lives then. Sheesh! Accepting isn't marriage Ditto with JV messages. Send one, then back off. People have to breath and work in their businesses as priority, otherwise, you'd not want them in JVs anyway.

Spread the word, all ye Facebook instructors

How are they pushy? Are they writing on your wall? Jumping into unrelated discussions?

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

      Hi Dan,

An example is one person who asked about a JV by using Facebook messages and Facebook chat. I said I was busy, but wouldn't mind discussing something next week when I had more time.

But this person wouldn't let go and even allow me that much time. Instead, every single day - -and multiple times during the day - this person kept asking if I was ready yet every single time I was in Facebook via my Facebook chat and messages - - errrghhhh!! This was a woman who did say she was coached by a well known IMer here on the forum, so it surprised me - a lot!

Hence my post here. I love coaches and mentors, learning of all types. But I sure hope people are advising to use common sense and good professionalism, too. Let's just say I haven't run into programs here that leave this out. So I'm guessing this woman was overly aggressive or on caffeine or something

Another was female, too, and similar, started inviting me to daily internet marketing events via Facebook messages and email. Overkill in my book. I mean, really: host one, actually have it, then follow up or something (SLOWLY - over time). Daily is overkill -- unless I sign up for that.

Hope that helps! I do love Facebook for personal and business networking. But as here in this forum, I'd just like to see some guidelines in place so there is no harassment and spamming.

Gotcha. I haven't had many people try to chat with me on Facebook. And I largely ignore Facebook messages. I don't know how many I get per day. I treat them like Twitter DMs--something to be ignored because they're only used by spammers anymore.

You gave me an idea: I could set up a special folder and redirect the message there, then check them weekly or so...

          Thanks!

Some people just don't get that the more they send invites or promotional emails everyday, the more irritating they get. I hope they know that that kind of method is not helping them or anyone else, for that matter.

Thanks, Big Mike! I'll take a look at those. Maybe the settings help with chats, too. I like to chat, but wow - -abuse or what goes on there sometimes
