Can we talk about Membership/Subscription management a bit?

I operate a training business at $10,000 a seat for a 3 day workshop that ends with a subscription for a $500.00 a month product that I create.

The tools I am currently using are

1) Powerleads Pro to find prospects
2) Various Large Volume Email Marketing Softwares for email campaigns
3) Aweber for a sales funnel

Then I use Aweber for "Workshop List" automated emails prior to the workshop, when they are done, they move to a "Paid Subscription" list, and if you're on that list, you get a weekly product for the $500.00 a month.

My problem is with subscription management. Some of my clients pay by check every month, some by an Automated Subscription through powerpay and authorize.net, some through paypal.com subscriptions, and some I have to call every month and ask them for a card over the phone, and some call me to give the card over the phone.

When this was 25 clients, it wasn't that big a deal.

I'm looking at Salesforce.com but not sure what's the best, for the little amount of money. Money isn't necessarily the problem if I feel like I can get some good automation out of it.

The weekly product changes weekly but they pay monthly.

If I have not described my problem well enough, please ask questions.

I don't want to pay $300.00 a month to Infusionsoft.

Best subscription management solution for the money, hopefully less than $100 a month. Something automated, where if someone doesn't pay the $500.00 a month by some days later, they won't get the product. I don't like calling a client asking them for their monthly fee, and on the other hand, I don't like making the moral decision to keep sending them and hoping they'll pay. I'd like some automated email that goes out and says "Your subscription is up for renewal on such and such date". I have some clients that pay a year in advance, and I have to keep track of that as well. I'm doing it manually right now. Which is getting harder to do the more clients I get and their differing pay methods I've offered to make everything go smoothly.

Since you're getting your payments from very different sources you won't find a system that fully automates everything out of the box.

The cheapest and most elegant way is probably to combine an existing solution with some custom scripting. The existing solution probably isn't very expensive, and the custom scripting is a one time expense.

What exactly you need would depend on in what ways the information will be put into your automation system. For example, how do you get the info of cashed checks, bounced checks etc. into the system.
