Any Aweber users receiving way too much spam?

All of my aweber email accounts are receiving a ridiculous amount of spam messages... all very similar in subject and content.

This has always been an issue which I've tolerated well enough by deleting them as they've come in. But lately, the messages have increased in numbers dramatically and it's really getting on my nerves.

Any other aweber users getting loads of "New Pramacy. -87% PERSONAL DISCOUNT!" messages?

Isn't there anything Aweber could/should be doing about this?

Yep, I'm getting plenty of them too. They're on addresses that I haven't tagged, but these addresses are on lists from Aweber as well as one of the other ESPs that got hacked. (Epsilon or something? Can't remember -- the ones that handle companies like Hilton Honors, some banks, etc.)

What can they do about it? Just like other major email service providers, they were hacked some time ago. Once the hackers took the information, it was out of Aweber's hands.

I think its either you're email has been hacked or one of the lists you subscribed to was sold off to the spammers.

      Thanks for the reply guys.

It's definitely an Aweber thing, as the spam only comes to specific addresses I have listed with them. I have plenty of other addresses under the same domain that aren't linked to aweber and are still thankfully mostly spam free.

I've been getting this spam for probably over six months, so I find it odd that it still seems to be coming from only one or very few sources (subject lines and sender are always identical or very similar).

I figured if I was getting these because aweber was hacked and my name was stolen, then by now I'd be on tons of lists getting spam from every direction. But it doesn't seem to be.

That's why I was hoping maybe this was sourcing from aweber's servers and that they might be able to do something about it.

      Damn spam.

I am starting to see a lot of new email spam from my Aweber emails. The new twist is that the subject line and email content use the names that I used to sign up for various lists.

I use a few nickname varieties when I sign up for lists and all of those exact names are now in my spam emails. These are nicknames I only use on Aweber signup forms.

Here's what Aweber said about the original data compromise:

I'm guessing this is where all your spam is coming from.
