Sending your subscribers an unrelated message.

What is your opinion on sending your subscribers a message which is unrelated to your niche? For example sending them a funny youtube video, or a crazy Yahoo News story.

I'm trying to think of other ways to build a relationship with my subscribers, besides just good content.

What ya recon?

Don't do it. Did that accidentally one time. Wound up with half the list unsubscribing. Plus some reporting it as spam.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog:, following him on Twitter: or reading his fiction: but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

I was very unsuccessful with this as well didnt work well for me either. May depend greatly on the list though and if you are willing to try it.

They subscribe for info regarding your blogs topic, not what you think is funny. if you do something like that just include it in something that IS related

It depends on your audience. Don't forget that your subscribers also human too. They love to read and see interesting news, videos, pics, etc.

I don't really think it will cause such big issue but still depends on your audience.

I wouldn't risk it. Keep on sending them good, solid content related to the niche.
