I have a great product.

How do I find affiliates to promote it?

Is it a product in the IM niche or in something else? Its kind of hard to give any advice without knowing the niche etc. Even then you get affiliates by finding people like the ones here to promote your product. But it really needs to be of quality and have a good sales page etc. I would suggest going to the joint venture area as well and it may have people there looking to promote stuff etc.

I would also add it to your signature if thats allowed.

You don't find them....they find you...

Haha no JK. Well if you got a good product generally your customers might be wiling to promote it. Also many people do a proper launch and create some hype, bonuses, specials to promote the product.

Also get some JV in the JV forum. Build up your contact. Also promoting other people products

the product is a shopping cart program -- it allows users to easily put up an online store with no technical knowledge.

I've created the product but my problem is I never did an official launch!
so far my clients are word of mouth from previous clients...
I have to get someone to do the business part of this all...

        Thanks,

    Hello Esther,

As I can see your shopping cart looks promising and with some extra efforts you can build a solid team of affiliates promoting your product constantly.

I will give you some tips which I use often.

1)Think of the ways by which you can promote your site. e.g. SEO, ppc, mediabuying, video marketing, web 2.0, social media etc..
2)Now do some reverse engineering of who is promoting what by particular method.
3)Make a list of domains and contact them by email with your offer.

This looks simple but you need lot of things to do before approaching your potential affiliates like collecting data of conversion rate, making a affiliate center/tool page, creating an irresistible offer for affiliate etc..

      Dmaind,
Thanks for you input. Yes I am adding more options such as facebook fan page integration (they can show featured shopping cart items on their facebook fan page) and I have more social media integrations planned. (If anyone has ideas i'm open to hear - i'm out to make this the best product out there)

I'm just trying to figure out now how to really market this and get affiliates to promote this.

Esther, Who are your top competitors? What are their pricing structure? Do they have affiliate programs? If yes, how much they pay to affiliates? Which affiliate networks they are using?

These are few questions which you have to address before finding your affiliates.

Also if you have budget you can hire a affiliate manager to do this job for you.

    Thanks Dmaind
I know I researched competition and my price was better then most and had a lot more features. I did not research their affiliate programs but at this point i'm willing to offer high commissions.

    Thanks,

Go to the forums where you think you'd find good affiliates or post onto sites like CB.

Hello mate, apart of many other (correct) considerations other members made, you should adopt an affiliate tracking software.

Here on WF there is the WsoPro script who permits to set affiliate commissions: I published mine a couple of days ago, and many webmasters are already contacting me to promote my product! That's awesome (and completely hassle-free).

If you get a chance, take a look at that one.
