If You Get A Parked Page From A Website You Know Is Active, Reboot Your Router!

Hi,

I was poised to spend some money with Sam Stephens on renewing my support/upgrades with DLGuard.

Am I losing my marbles or is it showing a parked page for everyone else?

Maybe Sam needs to renew the domain, maybe it's to do with GoDaddy problems?

Sam...put your surfboard down and shout me up on here when you're ready, I want to give you some good British FIAT ponzi-pound notes

      Hi Roger,

Although I'm not from UK, I tried both and they're working fine from here.

      Cheers,

        Hello Roger,

I'm assuming it's working for you now?

I just tried both those links and they work for me.

(EDIT - Maybe unlikely, I just realised I posted 3 minutes after you)

          Hi Richard,

          Thanks, but no it's not.

It's an outside bet, but I'm going to try rebooting as the flash plugin crashed earlier on those damn newspaper pages adverts. I have a hunch it's knackered my browser and a restart might solve it.

          Back in a mo.

It's either an ISP or browser problem.

You might also want to flush your DNS cache.
In Windows, from a command prompt type:
    ipconfig /flushdns

      Hi KirkMcD,

Thanks for that. Restart didn't work so I'll try pulling the chain on my DNS now.

      Hi All,

I appreciate all of your help.

      DNS flush - no difference.

Checked online for issues with ISP - not in my area.

Going to try rebooting router now.

        Hi all,

        That got the bugger!

Thanks for your help. I'll adjust the title of the thread now so as not to implicate Sam's website, which is not guilty of any parking offences!

        Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou helpful warriors.

        Persistence pays, right?

Hi ExRat! Sorry mate, don't smack your router around just yet:

I had an SSL cetificate installed on my site, which required an IP address change, which supposedly should have only affected people who'd visited the site recently, and had the IP cached, which I guess is what your router did?

Good to hear it's all sorted now - sorry for the confusion!

Feel free to send the good British FIAT ponzi-pound notes

    cheers
    Sam

      Hi Sam,

Yep, that's what happened. I had been loitering around your site for a few days.

I need my number of installs reset and also a payment link for upgrades/support please. You have an open ticket, cheers.

Too late, I made it sit outside in the rain for the night

Yea, whenever you have issues with websites loading old content flushing the dns is the first thing to try. You can always verify if the website is loading the correct content by loading it through a proxy like proxify.com

This way you can see what the website looks like being loaded on a different computer.
