The greenest of the newbies

Hello,

I hear that Internet Marketing is where millionaire success stories are made. Well I am all for it, but I don't know where to start. I have been researching this industry and it is hard to find the right person to trust:confused: (someone who is not trying to take all my money).
I am willing to take down my guard and receive guidance from who ever can take me down the road to success from day 1 to the point where financial success is reach.
My budget is slim (no money), but if the success is met I will give 10% of my first six month earning and be willing to be your success story by issuing the check on video towards your next project.
Looking forward to working with one of the best strategist. Please email me.

Thank you
Jeff Green

all I can tell you is, dont run after the next best thing and work at it hard. most people (including myself back then) always run after one thing to another and frankly, theres a whole industry dedicated of so-called gurus just trying to make money of newbies.

theres tons of money to be made but you just have to work at it.

Im working on a WSO right now and once its ready, its a very good guide especially for someone that is just starting just like you.

      Hi jl,

My advice would be to first learn as much as you can, and get a feel for the industry and methods used. Then slowly implement these methods. Stay focused!

You can definitely make money from just reading free material on this forum and good IM blogs. Some basic knowledge which has helped me are:

Market research - go or no go?
Keyword research - use google keyword tool, understand what those fields mean
Affiliate programs - clickbank, cj, peerfly, adsense, amazon
Website building - Wordpress CMS management
Backlinks - learn to distinguish low quality and high quality links.
On page SEO - title tags, keyword density, h2 tags, actual good content

Once you've gone through them, if you feel like some more knowledge:
listbuilding with squeezepages - aweber listbuilding service
      Product creation
      Simple outsourcing - fiverr

Learn and grow, stay focused and implement.

      Cheers

      Yoong

I would get another job and do IM on the side - get one WSO with plenty of good reviews and follow it through to the end - give it 3 months and if it's not working try another WSO. Don't hang out too much in the forums or you will get lost in information

If you are from USA or UK , then start offline marketing for SEO, Web Deisgn and outsource to freelancer and earn more then 90 % . Like if you get order of web design for $1000, you can out source to freelancer ( like me ) for $100 and keep remaining.
IM is little bit difficult to start without money, because it need some investment. Try offline first and then jump to Im with that money .

Just take your time, don't subscribe to a lot of marketing newsletters, you will get
inundated with email promotions and you will end up not knowing which way to turn.

Start of simple with just one marketing model. People fail because they are not focused enough they just keep chasing from one method to another. There are so
many ways to make money from an internet business, but you can't start trying to
work on all of them at the same time. People keep jumping around because they think
one method over another is going to make them more money. That maybe so, but you have to start with one method only, it maybe adsense, amazon, affiliate marketing, but just go with one of them untill you have gone through the learning curve. Then you can branch out into other marketing methods.

My advice at this point is to get out there and offer your services. You learn valuable skills this way and it will fund your education. Don't know what to offer? Go to Fiverr and eLance and see what people are looking for (or offering). Find out how to do it (Google is handy here) and start offering it. Keep trying new ways to sell yourself and find out what works. Once you have some money in Paypal, you've got more options:

      1. Acquire some information. Could be a WSO, book, course, what-have-you.

      2. Shell out for a bigger ad. A Warrior Classified or a website comes to mind.

      3. Strike out on your own and create something. Could be an affiliate site, an e-store, a WSO.... whatever you like.

If you run out of cash, you can always fall back on your freelancing background to generate more.

I suggest setting a goal and keeping a journal. It's amazingly easy to work for a few weeks and find yourself on a completely different path. A goal will serve as a reminder of why you're doing this and a journal will help to keep you grounded.

Lastly, keep challenging yourself. If you get good at commanding $5 for a 400-word article, start trying to get $8 for a 400 word article. Keep pushing forward. Let your goal guide you and don't stagnate.

My advice would be dont buy anything for the first couple of months. Spend your time reading and learning and start making some free pages on places like Squidoo, Hubpages and Blogger - you can learn a lot about what sells and what niches you would like to be in from these sites, this forum and the forums on Squidoo and Hubpages.

When you are new it is far too easy to get on the IM treadmill and jump from one thing to another. Make a plan first. Just because you have heard some millionaire success stories dont expect it to happen right away - be prepared to put in the work and you will see results.

Coaches taking a percentage of earned income actually isn't that bad of an idea. It forces the coach to actually be able to deliver. I would offer a lot more than 10% though. This is a person who is setting you up FOR A LIFETIME of making money. 50%-75% of earnings in the first 6 months would be a much greater motivation for a proven coach to work with you. Man if you got a good enough coach 100% would be worth it, especially if they have you making 10k+ a month by the time you're done. The problem is a coach doesn't know if you actually have what it takes to succeed, so it's a risk that they are wasting their time when the money they make is based off of your success.

    Just some thoughts!

    -Steve

Green? there's nothing wrong with green. Ask Kermit or Shrek.

When you're hard up for a bit of cash, there's no reason you can't try to change your life, and the internet can be that opportunity.

But it is hard work, and it's often harder to start, and being able to help a newbie avoid some of the mistakes most of us made, is very gratifying.

That's why I run limited free start up mentoring courses. Designed specifically for broke newbies, it concentrates on finding free and low cost options for resources need when you start an online business.

I have to limit the number of people to five (actually I have six at the moment, special case). Any more would eat up my time, and dilute the service i can offer.

Because I know that all my 'members' are short on funds, I don't charge a fee, and I don't send them to loads of products which aren't appropriate to their stage of training. You can't get blood out of a stone.

So how do I get a return, for my time and advice?

        We strike a deal.
        1. Every member agrees to buy any necessities, or register for any free services, products etc., register through my links. Simple, low level Affiliate Marketing.
        2. They agree, for the duration of the course, to use my PLR as their opt-in incentives, retaining my links.
        3. If satisfied with their progress, they slip in a nice referral post mentioning my name (not obligatory)
        4. When ready, I offer them to be my affiliates, sometimes for products not available elsewhere.
There are a few other 'clauses', but none of them will cost my members any extra money, and I ensure they're getting the best bang for their buck.

        It's basically a trust thing.
        • They trust me to help them find the right road forward;
        • I trust them to earn me some commissions and spread the word.

No, it doesn't earn me much in the short term, but it does win me friends; long term incomes and new, word of mouth customers.

It also gives me the input and challenges people meet, that help me learn more, and improve both my knowledge and the course. A Win-Win all round.

I've only been let down once, and he actually 'retired' from IM after a few months. He wasn't prepared to work, and expected everything handed to him.

I wrote this so that others might consider a similar idea, or compromises based on this.

        Cheers

        Alan.

PS. The downside for me is that it often causes me to neglect my other projects.

Have you had a look at The Challenge? Lots of people recommend it for broke newbies - it's free (my favorite price...)

Excellent advice NicSennen. I wish I had your advice when I first joined the world of IM.

I've been buying WSO left, right and centre. I was thinking of checking into a rehab clinic due for severe information overload..lol

When the mind starts wandering you know that you will not be able to focus or take action on he task. So just spending time doing the research, reading WF posts and learning general stuff is the best way. Don't make the same mistake as me.

Even better join a good top quality coaching program.

    Hey Jeff,

I did a lot of what you did. I tried to read and learn everything that I could get my hands on. I was in information overload big time. I agree with what Steve said about a coach. Since I was challenged both from a lack of marketing skills as well as pretty much no technical skills, I decided on the coaching route. It costs some bucks but I decided to spend my money there instead of buying up anything new that came along.

My suggestion is start at the link, one of our fellow warriors has just put up a ton of information for all to share and learn. it comes with a complete game plan and execution strategy, videos included.
I'm new to IM as well and ive been through the "information overload", and am just now starting to focus on a single strategy.
So i suggest you read his post.
Best of luck in your success!

    Hi,

have a willingness to commit to a course of action and belief in yourself to see it through to the end. take your time, I know you want to make money soon but rushing stuff will see you struggle, take your time, study and implement and seek advice, this forum is great for getting advice on specific issues related to I.M

If I were starting out I would make sure I learned two main traffic strategies and had a way to capture leads as they came to my site so i could follow up.

    Good luck

Please give me your suggestions to make it better. Remember I am on a low budget, so all the fancy add on will have to wait till I built a little income. Again, thank you.

You must be willing to learn,
and be patient to start doing it before
    understanding it.
Once you find the method that suits you best,
is time to get your hands dirty.
Just do it and when you see results,

If You think you can make money without investing anything then this is not the place for you.

You don't need to have thousands of dollars to start an internet business. You will have to invest around 30 bucks per month if you want something in return.

In the beginning the hardest part is knowing which direction to run since there are SOOO many directions to choose from. It's quite literally information overload!
My best advice would be to learn be doing and have patience.
The best way to pick it all up is to figure it out as you go.
Each step that you take will unravel new threads for you to tug at and learn from.

Start by investing $20 in a domain name and a few months of hosting from Go Daddy or Bluehost or Host Gator or whoever.

Install WordPress (best open source CMS (content management system)) and get to know it.
Learn how to create subdirectories and subdomains.
Play around with pages and posts, widgets and plugins.
Learn how to optimize your site's SEO.

This should naturally lead you into keyword research.
      Study up on keywords.
The different types (long tail and LSI) as well as where and how to use them.
Domain names, Meta tags, Image Tags, Anchor Text, Content, etc.

Traffic is everything nothing else matters without and endless and abundant supply of it so put the lion's share of your attention towards organic search engine traffic (best source of traffic).

Next is PageRank and subsequently backlinking.

Once you've got a fairly firm grip on all of the above THEN it's time to think about contextual advertising and finding affiliate products and/or services to promote.

Research the different types of contextual ads (CPC, CPM) and the different types of affiliate marketing (CPA, CPL).

Check out the various contextual advertising networks and affiliate marketing networks.

The two that should be at the top of your list in the beginning are AdSense and ClickBank.

When all is said and done it's really just a matter of creating a site, packing it with ads and links and driving as much traffic to and through it as you possibly can, but the devil is in the details so as I said before... learn by dong and be patient.

Hope this helped and gave you a few threads to tug at
