How Much Is a 1 Word domain name .asia worth?

I recently saw that a one word domain name is available but with a .asia extension. Please how much is this worth in the domain flipping market place. Has any domain flipper had any success with this kind of extension?

In terms of using that domain for personal pruposes I think it's awesome. But I don´t know about flipping, because most of people will se the .asia extension and might think it´s a little weird. Can be hard to sell. That´s just my personal opinion.

    Cheers,

all depends on what the word is...

I just did a quick search and was able to find a couple of one word asia domains so they're not that rare...

Maby is not THAT rare, but for people like us that see things from the IM side. Remember that he wants to flip, and when you flip, in most cases, you sell to somebody that has little or no clue about internet marketing, in most cases they just want a website, and I think a .asia domain can be really hard to sell, or at least not for a descent profit.

It depends what the word is.

travel.asia is going to be worth a whole lot more than verisimilitude.asia, you know? (The latter is available to be registered, along with tens of thousands of others; the former, not so much).

I tell you what. If you have contacts in the porn industry I reckon you could make a killing on some of these.

I can't believe some of these are still available or if I've just got a filthy mind.

You ask "How much is a particular domain worth?"

In truth . . . it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

That's not meant to be a flippant answer.

Some short, highly sought after domains are inherently valuable by themselves (because of the name only). Nearly all of these will cost you a small fortune.

Some domains are worth a whole lot because of the daily traffic coming to them.

Some domains are worth a great deal because of the web site sitting on them (great content, or fun games, or who knows what?)

If you like a domain and think it has value, then buy it for $7 and try to flip it. If it doesn't sell in a year, drop it.

Better yet, buy a domain, develop it (content and traffic), then sell it (there are lots of WSOs claiming they will show you how).

However, if you're thinking about purchasing a domain from an existing owner and flipping it, you have to be a little more careful.

The current owner and you may be the only two folks that love the domain. And if the owner sells it to you for a hefty price, you are left on your own with potentially no buyers.

Most people who buy and sell regularly (like folks who make their living with auctions, i.e. like on eBay) will tell you the secret to their success is "buying right."

So if you're going to flip a domain quickly without increasing or developing its value, you'd better "buy right."

It's too hard to tell without knowing exactly what the domain is and doing some research. Also it would help to see similar related sites.

The name is associated with crime and other extensions(.in, .us, .eu etc) have been take except the .asia . I feel that this keyword has value and that's why the .in, .us, .eu, .com and every other extension that you can think of is taken except .asia . So, am I wrong at this?

If all the other extensions are taken what makes you think
the .asia has any value at all? It's not like anyone is going
to get type in traffic from people typing .asia by mistake.

Beyond that it's all about ranking skills... not the extension.
In this area I think the .asia is a detriment. If I searched the
keyword you associate with this and found a .com and a .asia
I'd probably go to the .com because I don't live in Asia and I
would assume the owner does. I'd probably be wrong about
that assumption but that's what I'd do.

Buy the name and put it up for sale... that's the only way to find
out what the market will pay. How much could you lose? Not much.

        It's true. But I think it's easier to brand a money.cc or money.mo than something like mymoneymakingstrategy-oftheday.com
Which one would you put on your business card?

If all other extensions are registered, then obviously domain is valuable. You could sell it for 2x of registration fee of you might sell it for 1000 times profit. It all depends what name it is.

travel.asia LOL , all travel domains (even 3rd level domains) are taken except travel.ki which is $1000 per year! If someone wants travel dot whatever-extension, he could pay $1000 per year for travel.ki or buy your travel.asia for $1000 one time fee. I just registered the last remaining travel domain (travel.us.org). What I have to lose? $19. What I have to gain? Well, I am not sure how valuable us.org is.

If you can find any of these domains with whatever TLD, you can make good profit.
sex, business, hotels, golf, taxy, seo, money. Last time I checked all ccTLD's for these generic names were registered. I do own all those names on some funny ccTLD like SEO.HN | Search Engine Optimization by High-Needs.LLC
The last 'business' 3rd level domain ( business.us.org ) was registered a week ago. I'd really like to buy a 2nd level business.xx (replace xx with any other 2 letters). I contacted someone selling such a domain and he's asking $10,000. So I registered a 3rd level business.com.ee instead.
BTW, how much is it to register an .asia domain?

Can a generic domain with some funny extension rank for some big keyword? Free.fr is in top 10 for keyword 'free' and god knows for how many long tail keywords. It receives 2,5 million visitors per DAY! (alexa global rank 199)
I 'd try to hit jackpot once, rather than chasing long term keywords all my life. Actually it's not a choice, you can do both.

I don't think there's anything obvious about it but you're
        entitled to your opinion.

The owner of what domain? No ones mentioned the name.

Secondly, this isn't the place to try and sell your domains and thirdly stop bumping the thread so you can try and sell it and maybe try reading the rules.
