The Clickbank, Web of Trust, and Facebook Problem

I just received an official email from Clickbank saying they are having problems with the web of trust, and as such clickbank links on facebook are taking a hit... I've downloaded the web of trust plugin though and I don't see any problems or even bad ratings on the Clickbank site though... anyone got any thoughts / knowledge on this?

    I wonder why they are getting negative ratings?
    Maybe a few shonky affiliate marketers on there giving a bad name to Clickbank. Thanks for the heads up.

    If Facebook is good enough to make Shoemoney an absolute fortune on there, then it should be treated with respect.

      I wonder why they are getting negative ratings?
      Most sites selling anything related to what we think of as online marketing have negative ratings. Most from a very small number of votes, to be sure, but the ratings are still there.

      This is a perennial challenge with such systems. A small number of people can have a disproportionate impact until the services are in wide enough use to accurately reflect reality. Even then, they're far too easy to slant by a mildly determined person or group.

      Clickbank itself has a "good" rating with WoT. I suspect the problems are with the individual merchants, which fits the pattern.

      If there is any discrepancy at all, its because people are advertising these damn push button systems that don't do a thing except take ya money.

      We need to bring integrity and trust back to the marketplace and finally end this vendetta that has been after us marketers by ALL the major advertising networks since what seems like day one.

      Like always, a few bad eggs ruins it for everyone...

    Wow haven't seen much about this. The negative ratings will probably always be around in some way. It's just how you make yourself stand out.
