Maybe someone can help me make sense of this...

I submitted 10 articles to articlebase and 9 got rejected as advertisement (I've never had this problem before).

I re-wrote the 9 articles and this time 8 got rejected as advertisement.

So, I rewrote the 8 and submitted 3 this time, within two minutes they were ALL rejected as advertisement.

I tried a test and copied an old article, spun it and submitted it and again, within 2 minutes, rejected.

Any ideas of what is happening?

The articles each have only three anchor links and I've used the same formula I've used on ALL my past articles.

This is frustrating...

We hear you ... but how can anyone comment helpfully without seeing at least a couple of your articles? Can you paste them into a post, or put them up somewhere else and show a link to them?

There are some article directories that auto-approve content: you could get them published in those, no?

My guess, from what you say, is that your articles read like ads (in which case, frankly, they're unlikely to be "fit for purpose" anyway, even if you do get them accepted), but I'm sure people will be willing to comment, if you can show us ...

      Thanks,

I can submit to other sites, I just like the Google love from articlebase

Here is one of the re-writes that was rejected within two minutes of submission:

I included ALL Links, etc so you have an exact copy of what was submitted

I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions...

I had these up for a quick example, but I took them down so I stay in compliance here.

      THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE

I also wondered about links so near the start.

I would think your best chance might be in directories that auto-approve, perhaps, Michael? Parts of it seem already to have been published all over the place ...

Many of the article directories are cracking down on the links in articles. You didn't mention if your links are in the body of the article or your sig box.

Try to cut down to no more than two links in the sig box, make sure they go to a site or page with real content (not a splash page) and eliminate all links in the article.

For example, I wrote an article and used [www - yourwebsite - com] for an example. IT GOT FLAGGED AS A LINK! Yeah, stupid. But the bots look for certain combinations not what is actually between the dots. Follow?

(:confused:Hey, this response just got flagged and I had to 'remove the link' to the yourwebsite example. ROFL, see even here. This is my 5th or 6th post so I can't add links yet. Just so you know.)

Avoid using any affiliate links in the article. If you are writing an article about GOOGLE for example, just type out the name with nothing after, no .whatever. After all, you will have the chance to sell your products or affiliate product without the restrictions from your own page.

Took me a while to work through all this, but it is worth it. I have had over 37.000 page views from my articles in about 3 months and that is just from ezine articles.

Good luck, hope this advice helps

Maybe you shouldn't have links in the first couple paragraphs. That might be your issue.

I have sub-domains (blogs) I recently set up.

There are several to every site, each with a different prefix/name...

All 3 links go directly back to one of these sub domains...

No links go direct to any affiliate sites...

I took this down because I got plenty of good advice and I want to stay in complience here.

        Thanks so much.

I would say that the 'advertising' is to do with the amount of links present. I'd look at getting rid of the first anchor text link....maybe a bit too early. I usually limit my articles (no matter how long) to two anchor texts. One in the second half of the article and one at the end. I have never had a problem with it being considered advertising.

      Are all your articles similar?

I have two articles per keyword.

If they get rejected again, I'll try taking it down to 2 links as suggested.

EZA has a rule that you can't use links in the first three paragraphs of the article body, maybe article base is similar.

It's a little more than that: you can't put a self-serving link in the article body at all.

Yeah I never did that either, and have never had an article rejected. Pays to read the ToS. Memorise it, even.

I never had any articles rejected prior to this and I have hundreds, out there. Which is why this took me by surprise all of a sudden.

I think all of you have helped me figure it out because now they are getting accepted again.

I'll explain, so no one else has this problem...

I always included 3 live links in every article until recently, I started adding an additional live link in the resource box (making 4 live links).

The forth live link, even though it wasn't in the body, is what caused the articles to be rejected.

The max, in any combination is three...

So either 3 live anchors in the body or 2 in the body and one in the resource box is acceptable (at articlebase)

A fourth one anywhere and you get rejected...

Funny thing is, I have some short sales letters out there as articles and they where never rejected...

Also managed to get four live links in some of my articles as well before they started getting rejected...

I'm back to getting them accepted by making this one change...

                Thanks for all your help...

ArticleBase seem to have toughened up on what they will accept nowadays. That's a good thing though - better quality is good for all of us.
