Hello, I'm weblink29 and I'm a domain name addict...

I can't help it. I run into an interesteing niche. I do some keyword research. I find a great domain name that fit's the niche perfectly so I buy it with the intentions of building it "when I get some spare time"...

I'm embarrased to say how many domains I've purchased and never built/promoted. Or after taking a second look at it decided it wasn't such a great idea after all.

I need a 12 step program....

Do this for other people. Find people on forums and say you will research them a domain name and keywords.

Or, sell the domains that you have.

I can relate! What you should consider doing is writing or outsourcing one good article for some of those great domain names. Put up a quick and dirty WP blog, post the article, social bookmark it, and let the site age until you get around to doing more with it. An aged site with a few backlinks is more valuable than an unused domain, I think.

Always nice to know I'm not the only one ...

I'm with you all the way. (You might manage to shake me off at the train station, though).

Oh Aleaxa, I thought you were perfect, and wouldn't do this sort of thing.

I have the same problem - it comes from my chronic underestimation of the amount of time it takes to work on any one website.

I have only just recently crossed over into having more domains active than inactive

That is the issue that almost everybody has. You have the idea, you have the ability, but don't take any actions. You need to take action if you wish to have a living online.

Well, I'm glad that I'm not alone. It really does bother me sometimes. I have lists of websites on my desk at home waiting for me to work on. I have made a decision to stop buying domains until I have my list completed. That caused me to start creating a list of domains to buy in the future.

The upside is: I am getting much better at finding decent niches, doing basic keyword research, and buying domains that have the keyword phrases in them.

The downside is: I am getting much better at finding decent niches, doing basic keyword research, and buying domains that have the keyword phrases in them

I finally just let some of mine go. And wrote off the cost. I simply did not have enough hours in the day to put them all together.

Now I keep getting rung at home by the registrar, wanting to know what is happening.

Why not go to Fiverr and hire someone to build these sites that you originally planned with the domains that you bought. This way you can test it out if you're idea for domains has merit. Sites that does not do well sell them dirt cheap and focus on the ones that shows promise.

I don't think there is a cure, but the best recovery program is to start selling off any domains you are not actually using and monetizing.

I did that too until it came time to renew all those domains. If I hadn't done anything with them and it wasn't the greatest thing since sliced bread kind of domain, I let them go. It's an expensive habit to hold onto domains that you aren't using or at least trying to sell.

That being said ... I did pick up qrcoder.net today .... awesome

LOL, sounds like you just need to start placing your unwanted domains on the sale block.
