I'm thinking of designing a new website but am confused as to whether to use a Wordpress blog instead of normal website. A lot of people rave about Google loving blogs, and they're easy to create, but I have a lot more control/flexibility when creating my own sites.
Wordpress or HTML/WYSIWYG?

Does it really make a difference to getting ranked with Google whether or not it's a blog/standard website?
The site only requires your standard features and few pages so it's nothing complicated. I'm also concerned that if it's a blog, will I have to regularly add content to it? which isn't what the site really needs.
What would you recommend I go with?
