I read over and over about people using YouTube and Facebook as places to find my target audience of Video Gamers.

I have no idea what to offer as far a video that people would want to see of show someone else. My product is a novelty item that the gamers would sell their little brother to buy if they only knew it existed.

Other thoughts on target these online gamers? Any advice would be great.

Record segments of the game with something like a dazzle. My kid does this all the time and while he does not monetize any of this traffic he is learning how to get views. If I was into the gaming niche, then I would have him working for me posting vids. Cheats work best or bugs in the games also work good.

      Thanks for the reply!

Could you clarify or send an example of your kid's work? I would like to see the dazzle factor that you refer to.

Also this game does not have any cheats (believe it or not) because if one is found they correct it in a "patch" or ban user accounts.

Other ideas? My product is a novelty desktop collectible but how do I work that into a video? Or should I make a spoof/fun video and have my website posted through out the video?

I just caught a glimpse of this thread.... can I butt in w/ quick question please?

      what is "dazzle"?

I too am getting traffic from unexpected means, and just started w/ videos

My vids are very amatuerish (u have no idea...) yet they still produce traffic
which tells me I gotta brush up on vid nomenclature
      thanks and Merry Christmas Warriors!

Just search Amazon for a Dazzle you will find it. Its just a device which allows you to record what you see on your TV to the USB drive of your computer. There are different brands of these devices and Dazzle is just one of those brands. It will cost you about 90 bucks or so depending on what features you get. Ever wonder how all those people post all those news clips, HBO specials, etc.. to youtube. They are likely recording with a dazzle or one of the other similar devices to produce their videos. Can be a useful tool if you do it right.

      REALLY!

      hot damn.... look out!

Thanks, I noticed your Squidoo sig file... I need to do something with my Squidoo, I made one, then forgot it from other things bringing me traffic. Now that Squidoo page (that I now wish I'd spent more time on) is ranked in Google for a keyword I want to promote.

I did really like the way Squidoo walks you through the process of creating a lens.
