[SOLVED] What is "Review Copies" or "Special Reviews"?

Hi, guys;

I'm new here, and I keep seeing in the WSO that you cannot ask for "Review Copies" or "Special Reviews", and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what that is. I tried looking around at replies to see if i could get a better understanding, but i'm not a marketer, and i'm new, so i'm not really getting the picture.

Thanks.

    Welcome

I'm quite new here myself, but I suspect it means you can't ask the product owners for a review copy of their WSO, although product owners will make some review copies available when they publish their WSO...

    Hope I got that right!

Yes you got that right. After a while if you build up a reputation different marketers will ask you to review their new wso. Occasionally someone like me who hasn't been around that long gets a chance. I just reviewed on which will be out soon.
If you join the war room which I think is only $37 for lifetime access you do get many wso's for free. If this information helped you click on the thank button under this post and that will help my reputation.
    Good Luck.

I second the Warr Room and haven't joined only due to cash flow (but I'm going to when payday hits or soon thereafter). Can't say enough about what I've been reading about it.

Everyone is correct. You NEVER ask for review copies. If any are available, they will be posted or people will get in touch with you to give you a copy. You are then expected to write a review in exchange as a testimonial.

Wait wait wait, lol, i think i just lost you... How do you get a WSO for free? Do you mean that THIS website occasionaly gives Warriors free services or products, or do you mean that Warriors can occasionally post a WSO for free? (the latter is of much more value to me, as i'm not a marketer, and never plan to be; i just found this place to be a good opportunity to tell people about our new services).

And, from reading what everyone posted (thanks, btw), i'm still not clear on my original question, but your answer gave me more insight, so let me see if i can get this right:
When someone asks for a "Review Copy", what they are asking for, is for YOU to write a REVIEW for THEIR WSO offer, pretty much vouching that their offer is worth the money? And they would take that copy/text/post, and add it to their WSO? Is that it, or am i still wrong?

If that's right, then that whole process sounds illegitimate, anyway. If a product or service really IS worth the money, then people will SAY SO on their own accord.

If that's wrong, can someone elaborate a bit more so that i can get it right? Thanks. Oh, and i seen that second phrase in another forum topic, here, on this site, but now i don't remember which one (i literally copied and pasted the text).

Also, i do have 1 other question: how long does it take to get a WSO approved? I submitted one a couple of hours ago (actually, i did a "WSO" and a "websites for sale").

(btw, i'm already a War Room Member)

      Thanks guys!

Here is the point. You cannot ask review copy unless the provider mentioned about review copies and the required qualification to get it or they may provide any special early bird pricing copies to get some honest reviews.

You are getting review copy, because you are promising provider that you will write honest review that will increase their sales. If you are not interested to write review, buy the product in full price or any discounted or special price mentioned by provider.

You get WSO for free, when the WSO is opened as free WSO or it is shared in war-room.There are many great warriors sharing nice stuff all day.Watch WSO section often.

WSO's are mostly approved with in a day.

Thanks, but that only states the RULES about "review copies"; it doesn't say what a "Review Copy" actually IS. I was hoping for a DEFINITION of a review copy. I guess i give up on this one, thanks anyway...

A review copy is generally the exact same as an actual sales copy. It's only referred to as a review copy because this copy is generally given away freely in exchange for an honest product review posted in the thread of that specific WSO.

Edit: It should also be noted, that contrary to what this thread may seem to imply, a "positive" review is not a prerequisite of being given a review copy. If you obtain a review copy of a product and find it to be a poor product, you are allowed to say so.

Review copy is the same full product copy given to senior members for free/discounted price to get honest review about your product.Which helps you to get more sales.
        Hope this helps.

Thanks guys! I think i've got it now.

Just in case there are any other autistic visitors who need a concrete definition, let me reword what they said:

    "Review Copy" is defined as:
A Product or Service that is given away freely, in exchange for a Review of that Product or Service. The word "Copy" is confusing here, as it sounds like it means "Content Text" (eg, Copy Writing), but it actually refers to a "Replication" (copy) of that Product or Service, that is given away free of charge. An example would be if you were selling an Operating System. You would give someone a free "Copy" of the Installation Disk, in exchange for a "Review" of your OS; hence "Review Copy".

Hope that helps the ones who still don't get it.

As for my other question, has anyone here posted a WSO before? Just curious what the expected wait time is.
