How to do Youtube Marketing right?

by iWork
24 replies
I'm thinking of doing Youtube marketing but need a good, sustainable, method that will stay in the long term.

Is it as simple as

-upload high quality video
-watermark it with my url
-drop it links
-rinse repeat 100 times

?

Are there any other things I could do to really get mad traffic from my Youtube videos to my landing page?

Thanks

hi..you can do joint venture with the video owner...
    it`s very simple..

    1. you pick the video that related to your product,
    2. make it sure that the video has a lot of viewers >60.000 and the viewers is improving
    3. just email the video owner from the profile, ask him that your video is really
nice...bla..bla..bla..i want to make an offer, i will pay $10 for each 10.000 new viewers but the video has my link in the description (the budget/negotiation about the price is flexible)
    4. don`t forget to use bit.ly on your link
    5. Just wait the reply 2-3 days

i use that strategies..and it works, you can try it

Instead of having your watermark (or in addition to it) You can use the annotation function to have a call to action at the bottom throughout the video. It could say something like "Click the link below for more info about xxx".

I believe that this will get you more clicks than just having your watermark in the video.

I don't know how effective it is, but I've read that you should be able to increase the referrals from other videos by using the same tags as them. So see if you can find some popular videos related to yours and "steal" their tags.

      Hope this helps

Why do you recomend a bit.ly link instead of your own domain name?

yup..i mean you can use bit.ly if you`re using affiliate link, but if you have your own website that will be great

    Hi there,

The success of your videos will depend on these factors -
    - How many views you get
    - How many thumbs up you get
    - How many comments you get
    - How quickly you get all the above.

You need to get at least 30 views and 5 comments within 1 hour, if you want to rank your video high. Furthermore, according to TubeMogul, the most views' videos get within first 3 days, so you need to do whatever you can to promote your video.

    Here are some simple steps:
    - share your video on your FB and Twitter,
    - use Social Monkee to bookmark it to 100 social bookmark sites,
    - comment on some high traffic videos that are related to your video,
    - use forums to share your video.

Furthermore, here is one dirty trick for you - Use Amazon Turk to get those views.

    I hope this helps.

      Most of all:

Understand that youtube is killing marketer's accounts sooner or later.

      1. Use it, but don't rely primarily on youtube marketing.
      2. Post to many other video sites as well.
      3. Publish the videos on your own site too, and host them there. Yes, host your videos on your own hosting account. Not kidding - anywhere else it might get lost.

    Thanks

As someone with several accounts....and who produces his own content....I love YOU TUBE.

But once again.....it's a TACTIC.....NOT AN OVERALL STRATEGY.

Marketing Methods last a lifetime.......Applications....YouTube, Adwords, etc.....change daily.

My biggest source of frustration with newbies on this forum and some who should be past that stage..is that you are being taught ass backwards marketing.

Since when did it become the right thing to do to create the medium FIRST.......then figure out what to sell....or even if anyone wants to buy it?

Your offer is always your starting point.

The internet and it's myriad of bells, whistles, and applications are just ways to get people to YOUR OFFER IN ORDER TO SELL THEM SOMETHING.

Sadly...most start the other way around.....and forget that you gotta have something people want to buy...cuz if you don't youtube, facebook, and all the rest of the applications aint gonna matter a lick.

YOU TUBE.....now that I'm done ranting. It's a cool application. And keep in mind that you can crush a market with 5000 views rather then the guy with 8 million and NO OFFER....and there are many examples of this.

What's your niche? What are you selling? Do your research....if there's a market....I can assure you that there are probably videos up already on You Tube...as I've seen some real obscure niches.

Create your own content...and do NOT let anyone tell you that a 2K camera is needed or a bunch of high end editing equipment is needed either. It's not.

Slick and Polished videos often drive prospects away......which is why I shoot about as ghetto as it gets....with great results....and a huge list.

HOW TO is one of the most powerful headlines you can use......How to Make X How To Find X etc.

Water marking is not absolutely necessary....and is often distracting and smacks of a pitch.....You Tube viewers want to be engaged. With that said....for sure to http:// hyperlink your url at the beginning of every video description.

What ever niche you're in....provide value....and I shy away from robots and fiverr et al......as I find it's easier and less risky to put together 3 or 4 good videos....and then find related videos with high views and attempt to do a video response....many older videos that don't have the approval default are good choices.......and automatically put your video below theirs......so you can siphon their traffic....assuming it's relevant.

The reason I shy away from buying views is because ultimately I want to sell......I'm not into this to impress myself with the amount of "views" I get....although I do get plenty using the video response method and of course I fire off the link to FB and TWITTER........You can even post a video response to your own video....which is like a double whammy.

Sounds like you want to churn and burn...and it wont work that way. The real players on YouTube....put out consistent quality content on a specific niche, built a trust worthy rappart....over deliver....and whether it's cake decorating or how to catch carp......stay consistent....provide legit value...and people will begin to trust you. These clients will buy from you.

Do NOT send peeps to a direct click bank page.....as google/youtube doesn't like it..and your conversion will be much lower. I use a squeeze page even though my products are my own....as the idea is to create a funnel....use You Tube as a way to get people who are targeted to your squeeze...even if you are doing affiliate marketing aka click bank etc.

Once you get your ducks in order.....the views come. My last channel promoting my custom video service has topped 35,000 views....without spending a dime on promoted videos or bs traffic that aint gonna buy anyway.

Like I tell people...you tube is a giant club filled with every niche and clique in the book....and most members just post the sporadic video....whereas YOU can come in and post several videos....and become the authority figure.....and video demos and how to's set you up as an expert.....and people BUY FROM EXPERTS.

Don't over complicate it.....there are two Warriors with good courses.....Zane who has one of the more extensive courses on You Tube and my friend Ron Douglas who has Video Forward which is a great product and fun......and actually will create extra income streams.

Not going to provide links to these products....as that's not really cool....but you can research them on your own.

Wash Rinse Repeat....for sure but only after you TEST TEST TEST....and determine you have a winner.

    Good luck

Guys, I am promoting an clickbank product as an affiliate on Youtube. How should I post a link on a video description?

    1. Is it ok to post a clickbank URL as is?

    2. or should I use my own domain URL (www.mysite.com/cjoffer) and FORWARD to my offer (mask it. what do you call that thing when you take someone on the CJ offer but the URL on the browser is still your URL?)

    3. or should I post a link that takes viewers to a squeeze page first to build a list before promoting to them or sending them to an affiliate offer?

I just want to know which ones are okay because someone made a comment above that Youtube hates affiliate promotions.

Quality not quantity will serve you well with a strong call to action at the end of the vid, i.e to find out more on how you can .....visit ...... be sure to put your link as the first thing in the description box

    Heres what you do...

Find clickbank products in your niche, buy them live on camera, review the members area or product, and then give you unbiased opinion of it. It if sucks, recommend your product instead of that one, if it rocks, give your affiliate link to that product.

    Hope that helps boss!

There's also a pretty sweet method introduced by George Brown.
He uses it quite effectively to generate thousands in traffic.

The idea is to look for a video in the niche you're in, that is really popular, with atleast 200,000 views in a considerably short period of time and if it has no link in the description. Contact the youtuber, and offer to pay them for placing your link in the url.
This can be very cheap even, especially if the person knows nothing about IM.

George once bought a whole youtube account full of subscibers, and high views for just around $100 bucks.
He put his links in all the videos and BAM!
Sit back, relax and watch the traffic come pouring in.

This is indeed the most powerful method, if you want traffic and not getting enough views.

I won't flog the dead horse for long here.

People always mention dropping links in the description - this is a red flag and I imagine will be increasingly so as things move forward, so as someone has already mentioned - consider watermarking rather than link dropping for video marketing. It also helps stop people stealing your videos and using them for their own purposes too.
