Thanks to Warriors - Made $180 in the past few weeks on my affiliate site!
I've been online for the past 3 years now, but the vast majority of that time has been spent providing premium content and marketing services for IM'ers. I never really put any energy into doing IM for myself because I was living in Thailand for the last 3 years and had to provide services to keep some money coming in as I had no plans to move back to the States.
And it's really hard to focus in Thailand....lol
But when I came back to the States for a visit about 2 months ago I threw up an affiliate site that has paid me $180+ in the past 3 weeks. And my website isn't even ranked for its main keyword string yet! It has been sitting at page 5 for it's main string for a while and just hit page 3 today - tip from LMC's monster thread did that for me. I think this site has the potential to make 1K a month if not more.
This is the first affiliate website I've actually put energy into.
I'm also in the process of building 20-40 more sites over the next few weeks. I don't plan on keeping them all - I"m just going to develop them and test out some different ideas, then I'll sell the losers and keep a small handful of winners.
I know $180 isn't a lot of money, and I've made much more offering services, but I knew for a long time how to do this; I just had to sit down and do it. And now that I have I know I can do it again.
Just wanted to thank a few Warriors who really provided some value along the way.
LMC's posts have been amazing and I highly recommend soaking up anything he writes - I know I will. Johnny Ramone helped me out a lot by giving me some great advice on keyword research and gave me a big chunk of his time just to help me out. And Barry Walls, a good friend who I had the pleasure of learning from in his Strategic Outsourcers program and then ended up hanging out with the guy for a few months overseas taught me how to make a good living freelancing and shared a lot of great marketing tips with me. Rick Rakauskas has also been a huge help in sharing tips and ideas.
Also, thanks to Allen Says for providing this forum. I've never met you, but all the posts I have read are extremely inspirational and eye-opening.
There have been quite a few others who have helped me via pm's, threads they started, or responses to questions I've asked as well. There are a lot of great people in this forum who share a lot of knowledge freely - knowledge I still foresee making me a lot of money in the future.
Of course, there are some idiots who come in and out too, but to any newbies out there, just use some common sense and learn to weed through the bull to find the good stuff....and then act on it.
There are naysayers on here too, but don't listen to them too much or it will severely stall your progress. Honestly, if I hadn't listened to everyone whining 3 years ago about everything being "too hard," "a scam," "too competitive," or "done aready" (among other excuses to not try), I'd probably have skipped the whole freelance phase and have been a full-time IM'er by now instead of working for others. This stuff isn't really THAT hard.
But everyone's got there own path, and that was mine.
So use your own judgement, teach yourself the basic skills, and just get started doing something.
Focus really is the best IM skill you can learn.
Thanks again Warrior Forum.
Cheers,
James
