Where to offer services?

I've seen people say, that if you need to make some money quickly, a good way to go is by offering a service - offering to write articles etc..

I was wondering where you offer the services. Do people mean setting up your own website, or posting in the war room (I'm not a member so I don't know what goes on in there) or something else?

Thanks for any replies!

One of the easiest ways is to offer your services using fiverr.com. You can offer services for $5 only, but you can do a little trick:

Offer a basic service for $5 and then offer more for higher prices. For example, offer to build 10 profile backlinks for $5 and then as they order this, offer to build 100 profile backlinks for $40 or something like that.

Other great places are guru.com elance.com.

You also can create your own site and sell your service there. Check out my sig how I do it. Then, you can post a couple of posts on warrior forum and some people will order your service.

    Hope this helps,

Every once in awhile I write a few articles for Constant Content. Sometimes they get picked up and I like being able to place an article and allow it to be purchased multiple times ( usage rights ) .

All of the freelancing sites mentioned (Elance.com, Freelancer.com, oDesk.com) are good to get work and possibly long term clients. You can also post an ad for your services here in the Warriors for Hire section.

I would also recommend setting up a website to act as a portfolio. This is where you could direct any potential customers so they can see your samples, services offered, and testimonials. It helps to have a web presence if you want to sell yourself and your skills.

There are also content creation companies that hire writers on a regular basis. Textbroker.com is one that many beginners can get hired on with, and it can give you the experience needed to get on with other companies such as DemandStudios.com and Wisegeek.com.

I actually find it surprisingly easy to land work in the services department. So far, Fiverr has been a hit for me and I've been writing everyday for the past three weeks.

I've also had people contact me outside of Fiverr and that's when a website would come in really handy. People like to see something of substance and a website with some testimonials is good for building rapport.

One thing I'm noticing as well... a video is like magic in this business. Use a video to sell yourself and the benefits of YOU performing the service. I'd say it's silly not to have a video, especially on Fiverr. Without one, you're just a face in the crowd

If you are looking for someone to hire you for writing articles, the best thing is to start your reference blog where you can post your work samples. Join freelance writing websites as an employee then pitch for the relative jobs. If an employer asks for sample work refer them with a URL

You could also list what your service is in your signature line.... that's free. Or invest in a signature pic/link. You haven't stated what "service" you had in mind so it's hard to suggest where to start. Does the service have something to do with IM?

Signature pic or text is very helpful when you have a service on the WF. Good tip.

My suggestion would be to start out by creating a website. (Feel free to PM or instant message me if you want some help setting it up, I'll walk you through it.) Put up your samples and contact info. You can link to that in your signature.

Once you have your site set up you have a place to send potential clients so they can see your work. This is useful for freelancing sites. From there, set up a Warrior for Hire thread. It is $20 to post and I have NEVER had an issue making much more than that each time I bump my thread. Offer a few free or half price articles to start to get some testimonials. It may also be a good idea to have a post requirement for the freebies so you are more likely to get reviews from well known members of the community.

ive heard fiverr is good. and also make your ad stand out from the pack.

  • Post a thread in the Warriors for hire section. It costs $20, and the thread won't be removed. You can also join bidding sites like odesk and elance. Bid on projects, you'ree sure to land a long term client that way. Post your gigs at fiverr, though you need to do some promoting in order to get jobs at fiverr.
