Need advice with my site

I have a website raleighwi-fi.com that is 6 months old that is my primary, this week I was able to secure raleighwifi.com. I then parked the raleighwifi
site under the primary and am using the public html folder so it is the same website. First does Google consider this duplicate content and penalize me?
If kept the same configuration can I build links to the parked domain? I have been told to get rid of the parked domain and make it a 301 redirect for seo purposes. I really would like to make raleighwifi.com the primary and raleighwi-fi as the redirect because it is seven years old and Google likes aged domains. T

  • It doesn't matter either way. If you feel wifi would be trendier then redirect wi-fi to it.

If you want to avoid a lot of work in redirecting and transferring stuff however, just redirect the wifi domain to wi-fi.

Once you redirect, it doesn't matter which you use to actually host the files!
  • Want I want to say that Google only penalized duplicate content so don't worry about.

Regarding linking, there is no point linking each other website if it is hosted in same hosting provider or as share hosting because it is same ip.

If it different hosting provider than linking is good because it is different ip, I hope you got the clear idea what I am saying..

    I hope this helps

    Thanks

  • Do a 301 redirect for the domain to your main domain.

Use canonical for all your pages so you don't risk any duplicate content penalty - Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: Specify your canonical
