Service idea for those still looking!

I have been writing ebooks and reports for a while now... and today I was getting ready to format my new report so I can start distributing it so I opened up Acrobat Pro to get to work... that was when I realized... I hate formatting ebooks! I am fine getting into Word and and writing everything, but formatting it and inserting images just feels tedious and gives me a headache.

I thought... you know what? Why not outsource this if I hate it so much? So I went out in search of someone to take care of this. I looked around oDesk and some other sites. In the end I found a single Fiverr gig where someone offered to format a short report for $5. I provided the images, the ebook layouts, and the text and they will be formatting it, adding all of the images, and putting in all of my links for me.

This seems like something that could be a useful service, especially with the popularity of the Kindle market. Just thought I would share this little idea!

    That is exactly what I was thinking. It is a great service for newbies to get into and is something that I don't see very often. I know I hear writers talking all of the time about books they have written but haven't published because they don't know how to format it or just don't have the time. It seems like there could be an okay market for it if you took the time to advertise.

    Hey Amanda - I'm sure you've probably tried this already, but what about using a template? Personally, I find that's the easiest way to format an ebook, although I completely understand how tedious the task can be!

    I have templates and I have used them. I just would rather outsource it and get right to writing the next ebook or report. Not to mention, whenever I have done the formatting myself they always look a little bland, so having someone that might be a little more creative is always helpful!
