WF you need to address this.

After I bought my last WSO, in part based on all the war room members that just raved over it and realized it was one of the worst $17 I had ever spent for telling me to use freaking fiverr to outsource, My gf that hasn't ever written a single website laughed at that.

I unsubscribed from the WSO offer of the day emails after this.

Are War Room members supporting each other with testimonials that is nothing more than spam? It now appears that way to me. I doubt most of the time they bought the product. I'm certain the reviews I saw from expert Internet marketers was TOTALLY unwarranted.

Now, when I see someone raving about a product in an WSO, the first thing I do is look over and see if they are a war room member, if so, I TOTALLY discount the review.

WF has a clause in the rules about negative comments on an WSO when the comment didn't actually buy the products. I've seen cases of negative comments being removed. On the other hand, my negative comments on a product after I actually bought it were not removed. Cudos to WF on that!

WF, make a clause about providing positive comments by people that have not bought the product too. I know policing it would be next to impossible, the offer maker isn't likely to report it.

I've bought five WSO offers, two were fantastic, one was good, one is passable but highly over in the comments by other war room members and one warranted a refund.

It isn't going to take long for your customers to realize that a lot of the positive comments on a WSO appear to be highly suspect and it is damaging to WF. When I see a lot of new accounts posting positive comments, then I know to stay away from the product, that reflects poorly on the member making the offer.

Yes, yes I know, due diligence. Due diligence shouldn't include having to figure out I need to discount what other War Room members are saying by trail an error, that is by buying a product.

And WF, your hands off approach on refunds followed with a warning about escalating a refund request to Paypal, that ain't right. If a seller doesn't honor his refund request, you should be preventing further listings. Maybe you do, but if so, I missed that when I looked into my refund request. I was shocked to see, basically, take it up with the seller. He finally did refund after I told him I would escalate. Paypal will not force a seller to refund on a digital product, you're at the sellers mercy. Remember the says when Paypal even ignored chargebacks, till they got their butts sued off and rightly so.

Please don't beat me WF, surely I can't be the first person to say this. There are clearly some good products in the WSO, These issues are keeping me out of the WSO's most of the time and I can't be the only one. I

f I ever offer one, I'm going to make it a point to ask war room members ('m not one yet and maybe never will be one after this post) to not give a review if you didn't buy it. I better not join soon, I suspect I'm going to have some War Room members hating me too. Oh well, I need to say this. It has been bugging me for weeks now.

Now, I avoid looking at WSO's because of what I perceive to be bogus testimonials in the form of comments. Is this a game of tag? I'll comment on your WSO if you comment on mine? I can't be the only one WF. You're the premiere marketing forum now, I want it to stay that way, well, unless of course I could do better. ha ha (I don't have an IM forum)

However, there is a WSO I plan to buy soon.

A couple of things. Being a War Room member doesn't necessarily mean you are respected or know what you're talking about. Anyone with the car fare can join the club. So I don't think there's any kind of bogus buddy endorsement thing going on based on War Room membership.

As for testimonials... I bought some software a couple of months ago from a WSO. It sucked. The thread was full of testimonials saying it was great. I truly belive the majority of people singing praise for this awful program believed it was great. So it goes...

It comes down to doing your best to figure stuff out on your own. It also helps to participate in this forum and take note of who the credible people are and who might not be so credible. I tend to trust folks who are like minded with myself to some degree. Good luck.

What's wrong with a $17 WSO telling you to outsource using Fiverr? I don't use it much anymore, but I've had satisfactory results in the past. I don't think one person having a bad reaction to a WSO is evidence of spam in the WSO's or that there's anything actually wrong with that particular one.

And lastly, I'm tired of everything being labeled spam.

Did you look over the people giving the positive reviews?

Did you pm them to get a more personal review?

Here is what you need to understand.

The WSO area is another advertising area of this forum. Just like your favorite home town paper, it is ads.

Do you expect your home town news paper to regulate every ad in their classified area?

BTW, if you bought something and it was terrible, you have every right to leave a bad review.

If you are screwed on a refund that is promised, and you report it, the help desk will take some action.

Sorry something didn't do what it said.

    Nice RANT!

Yeah I know what you're sayin' man, there is some crap out there sometimes, but you can't let that stop you from find the gold nuggets.

I mean, not everyone is going to strive their butts off to make the best product possible whether it be technical limitations or just the desire to make a quick buck. And you've got to realize that.

As far as the seller not wanting to refund your stuff, thats pretty shady if it was still within the refund period. However at the same time, shame on you for buying crap!

Testimonials are testimonials, I don't accept anything thats not authentic and from someone who hasn't personally been through my product and honestly tells me what they think of it.

At the same time, I think a lot of other marketers comment on WSOs because they have link to THEIR WSO in the sig and its a great way to get targeted traffic.

With all that said, I LOVE the WSO section of this forum. I think its awesome and there is lots of potential for even newbies to make a lot of money. Its also one of the only places left on the Internet where you can advertise with virtually no restrictions. And thats AWESOME!

Try putting your WSO on AdWords and see what happens... Know what I'm sayin?

Anyways dude, thanks for expressing your concern. I'm sure it will reach the eyes of those who need to see it.

    Talk soon,
    Matthew

        Rusty,
On the other hand, my negative comments on a product after I actually bought it were not removed.
If you stick to the product and give serious comments, we leave them, good or bad. As long as you actually bought the thing and aren't lying about what's in it. We actively encourage people to comment on products they've purchased.

The rules about only commenting if you've bought the product or received a review copy apply to positive comments, too. If we find that someone is faking testimonials, we'll remove them.
And WF, your hands off approach on refunds followed with a warning about escalating a refund request to Paypal, that ain't right. If a seller doesn't honor his refund request, you should be preventing further listings.
Where did you get the idea that we don't?

If we have proof that someone offered a refund policy and isn't honoring it, we'll address that with them. If they don't fix it, we'll take various steps depending on the situation. Those have gone to the point of removing all of a seller's offers and banning them.

Just keep in mind that we require proof. We don't go around banning people based on unsupported accusations.

As far as testimonials, I only give them weight if I know the person giving them and believe their standards to be consistent with mine. That doesn't mean just honesty, either. Someone can be 100% honest and still have different preferences or approaches that just don't fit with my way of doing things.
