Introducing A Product Line With a Marketing Funnel

I have 3 products about to come out in one of my niches, but I am stuck as to the best way to set up the first freebie product in my funnel to introduce them to me and the quality of what I am able to offer...

My original idea to get people into my funnel was to offer a FREE digital download via a squeeze page and then the additional option to download a video series for free in exchange for referring friends via a TAF.

Now instead I am thinking maybe a physical product ala Kunaki is the way to go with charging $4.99 or $9.99 for shipping and handling for a "whole enchilada" which should really "WOW!" lots of people with everything that I am offering.

I'm sure many of you will respond with "knowing your niche", but am not sure of the BEST way to go...

Any suggestions for me?

I much prefer selling low-priced reports on a 100% commission script (such as $7 Dollar Secrets or Rapid Action Profits), for two reasons:

    1. There is much more incentive for others to promote your product, as they are getting instant payments into their PayPal.

    2. You build a responsive list of buying customers. Freebies tend to give you lots of people who will never venture further into the funnel.

      Kevin -

Now that I've adjusted some strategy based on your suggestion I'm thinking of using RAP with the membership add on and offering everything together for the $7.

      Thanks for the advice

I was just thinking after reading this ... man this guy just kaboshed my well laid TAF plans. Duoh....

Then I remembered 80% of the target market I want to Refer my site - doesnt have paypal or want to PIMP my reports, and arent IM'rs.

But - they are online, use email extensively, they spend money to grow their brick/click N Mortar biz's via credit card all the time.

So I suppose the correct answer really depends on your target audience and niche' Or I guess Im just NOT creative enough to think of ways to get offliners to become IM'rs and pimp my report[s] for 100% commission.

        Steve,

I want to compliment you on your branding. Your user name "4morereferrals" really caught my attention.

It made me think, "four more referrals - yes, everyone could use four more referrals." Nice value proposition! Then I realized that you might have meant it as "for" not "four." Then I realized it doesn't matter, it works either way.

        Well done!

Steve, please let me know what niche you are in because it sounds wonderful. I would love to have the whole market to myself. No competition or what I like to think of as joint venture partners that would pimp my reports as well as me pimping theirs for even more profits.

So I guess it all depends on how you look at your business.

The only thing I would add is that your $7 product needs to be something really cool for the niche. It cant just be a lot of stuff. In other words, give out the best secret in this report and they will want to do more business with you.

Personally I have tested a low price item at $7.

I find people tend to see it as "affordable" and
they don't consider too much to click on the
    paypal button.

Then, behind will be an OTO of your actual item.

My suggestion is they must be closely related....
so that the momentum is built up and more
needs of the customers are met. =)

Ultimately, a product funnel is to help
our customers to fulfill their needs/ wants
or dreams as much as possible.

    My 2 cents,
    John

Justin, great way to think ahead (funnel). Here are some good (and thoroughly tested) ideas that have worked very well for me:

    Optin-Page -> Freebie Report
Autoresponder -> Salesletter -> Low cost front-end digital product

Now, once the person buys the digital front-end, offer them a PHYSICAL bonus product before they're taken to the download page. Give it to them free (only pay S&H e.g. 4.95, 9.95, etc...)

Send the the physical product (an audio version of your digital product works really well) with TWO letters:

    1. A 'Thank You' for your purchase letter
    2. An UPSELL letter that directs them to product #2

... repeat for as many products as you have

As for price points, I have thoroughly tested 7's, 9's, .95's and .99's and you know what? .99 not only brought in more money but higher conversions.

You should test this yourself of course, but the prices ending in 7 theory is so ridiculous and everyone is blindly following it (myself included until I conducted my test).

I realized what an idiot I was one night after visiting Staples®- Office Supplies, Electronics, Furniture, Ink, Toner, Copy Paper
What do prices end in there? .99 for the most part. Of course, a lot of 'gurus' think that big companies "don't get it" but you know what? They didn't get big because they don't get it.

    Good luck with your project.
