Clickbank vs. PayDotCom - I've changed my mind

Hi warriors,

I know there were TONS of threads going on a few weeks ago concerning Clickbank and their potential problems. I still believe there are problems, but not going to worry about it. Here's why:

I have a review site on a niche of mine containing one CB product and 2 PDC products. Eight or ten weeks ago, the CB product was converting at about 1/60. That was before things started going berzerk with CB. Since that time, this product hasn't been converting at all. Same traffic, same sales page - last few days 500 hops and not one sale.

The PayDotCom products, however, are selling like wildfire! Both products I am promoting have a nearly 4% conversion rate - it is amazing. A few months back, I hesitated about using PDC because like many, I felt that Clickbank was the only way to go. Now I'm beginning to see that maybe it is NOT the way to go.

Anyway, just to let some of you know - you don't have to put all your eggs in one basket

    Thanks,

I don't sell any products at the moment, and take payment via BACS or PayPal for my services, but this is worth bearing in mind for the future.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't payment by products on paydotcom handled by the publishers themself and not paydotcom? I read of people not getting paid by the publishers of the products they were promoting.

Yes, the publishers pay the affiliates through Paypal. I haven't encountered any problems so far. The main publisher I am using has multiple products, and has been a vendor on PDC for several years.

I'm just sorry I waited this long to start using them!

Yep, I did the same with RevenueWire. I started promoting the same product that I had with Clickbank and conversions tripled. Same traffic, same website, same everything. I don't know why more publishers promote their products on other networks because Clickbank is awful.

I think both cb and paydotcom both are very good.

I heard a lot of negative feedback regarding paydotcom's sellers not paying... I hope this won't happen to anyone of us here.

"Agreed!" on a couple of points here:

    1. RevenueWire

Never heard of it before. Looks okay. This page has some good info which suggests that they understand affiliate marketing (what that, in itself, means, I'm not sure!):

    Interesting and useful blog posts

Also, found a link to this handy little tool under the "Landing Page Loading Time" thread:

Landing Page Load Time Analysis Tool

Will look into them further to find out how exactly you get paid. Which leads us to...

    2. PayDotCom

Have steered clear personally because I've heard too many tales of the vendor not paying.

    Am I wrong?

      I can answer #2:
Yes, you are wrong. Now I'm not going to say that there's never been a vendor that took the money and ran. But, if they do not pay in a timely fashion just get on their forum and message the admin and he'll light a fire under them. They will be kicked out of PDC if they don't eventually pay up. One method to ascertain vendor reliability is only send a few sales one month and see if they pay out on time. then you can ramp it up from there. I have three different vendors I sell for over there and NEVER has one of them even been late in paying. I quit ClickBank long ago and have not looked back.
