loose gemstone Niche, What could I give away to opt ins

I am working on a site that deals mainly in selling loose gemstones, I am having trouble coming up with something good to give away to opt ins.

I was thinking along the lines of a free report on how to get a higher profit, from buying and selling loose gemstones, since most of the visits come from jewelry makers, collectors, and investors,

I use to sell on just auction sites, but I am creating a site where I can independently sell stones, without fees.

Any Ideas of what I could give away to my opt ins

You could just have them opt-in to be updated when you have new gems in stock. Can't think what you could offer professionals since they already know it all. Unless you can find some valuable information that helps them at their end - making sales.

Why not give them a code to use for $$$ off or a percentage off their first order? If you let them know you run "specials" every few weeks (or months) they would be inclined to stay on the list.

A friend of mine ran a gemstone site for three years. He said his big mistake was that he did not have higher minimum order amounts and that he targeted the public rather than dealers. His site was profitable but the order filling time for the small sized orders he received wasn't worth the profit he was getting from it.
