Selling ebook with no website?

Guys,

Just want to know whether there is a way to sell ebook without the need to build website, and start with zero cost.

What do you think, is it okay to sell ebook on Fiverr? But I will not say that I'm selling ebook, just something like "I will provide the key to self confidence for 5 dollars". Or "I will teach you the secret of real confidence for 5 dollar".

Or are there any website that provide service to sell ebook without up front charge? I mean they charge per sales. So if I sell the ebook at $17 for instance, then they charge $5 or something per sales.

I plan to sell self development ebook which is originated from free PLR, but the goal from selling this ebook is just to collect some fund for starting IM business. So I won't sell it at high price. I just need couple of hundred dollars to start IM business. So I don't need to make six figure income from selling this ebook.

Kindly advice

Yes, you can do that. Make sure you have the rights to sell what you are selling. If it's PLR, tweak it to make it unique to you.

Fiverr has been cracking down on accounts that give away copyright products. A lot of users were (are) selling ebooks, software and courses they didn't own the rights to. Some very high priced products they were (are) selling copies of for $5.

Buyers also know that they can find decent ebooks and tools on fiverr for $5. So there is a market there. Some willfully blind to obviously stolen products.

Your idea of offering a service "I will teach you..." is a common model for selling products on fiverr that works.

    Is this an original book?
Why not just offer it on the warrior forum as a PLR product and sell direct to marketers looking for a New giveaway or product to promote.

Loads of people looking for good quality fresh plr products.

    Just a thought

Thanks for your clear explanation. I'll consider sell it on fiverr

As far as I know, selling on Amazon will require some cost for ISBN. But I haven't heard know about google books. I'll take some research. Thanks.

Seriously? Here in Canada you can get an International ISBN for free, actually you can get them in blocks of 10 all for free.

Nope, ISBN is optional for Kindle publishers right now although that may change in the future.
ISBN (optional): An ISBN is an International Standard Book Number. The ISBN appears on the book's detail page and identifies this unique version of the book. You do not need to have an ISBN to publish your book, but if you do have one, enter it here.

You can always host it on a blogger site or something similar and use paypal. But ideally you want somewhere with builtin traffic. Amazon, ebay, fiverr, warrior forum/wso pro, ejunkie all come to mind.

Do NOT sell it as PLR here. If it's your own creation and it's decent, why let others sell it and take 100% of the profits? If it's good enough for others to sell you can wait and then set up an affiliate program at Clickbank.

Lulu is one of the most popular sites to sell ebooks. There are no upfront charges but they do take a twenty per cent commission on each sale. e-Junkie is also quite popular but they have monthly plans if you want to use them.

Delivering an ebook is not the same as teaching someone. Teaching implies some personal contact and input.
I'd wager there could be some negative feedback from buyers if you just deliver an ebook. Others will be happy if the ebook content is detailed enough though.

Well, I have plan to build a website which will be entirely different from the ebook content. But I need capital for it because I don't have enough money at this moment due to financial problem. I don't have the skill to offer on fiverr, guru.com, or elance.com. So the only thing come to mind now is to sell some cheap ebook and get fund to build IM website

Brad here - I vote for setting up a blog and then offering the ebooks from there. Blogger dot com will allow you to set up a site for free. Wordpress has loads of formatted blog pages and posting methods to allow you to do just about anything you want.

Be careful though. I have come across several stories about free blogs just one day being shut down.

But that seems to fit your approach. You have good quality ebooks you will sell for low prices for a short period of time.

You should use a Wordpress blog template that will allow you to periodically back up your site on your own desk top. Once you have the first sale income you are look for you can set up the blog - if you want to continue to use that format - on a paid host like GoDaddydot com or HostGatordomcom.

These and other hosts have software to rapidly load a blog in minutes and you could transition almost seemlessly.

Those are my thoughts - best of luck - cheers !

      Now I have several choices:

      1. Sell it on fiverr
      2. Sell it as PLR
      3. Sell it on Lulu or tradebit or google books
      4. Setup free blog and sell it directly from blog

Wow, such a lot of ideas to make me confuse
I should make decision soonest and take action immediately

You have to be Canadian to get them. You apply under the CISS and they will give you ISBN as well.

About ISBN - International Standard Numbers (ISNs) - Library and Archives Canada

But if you had any serious notion about your information product you would spend the $5 a month for hosting and get a real website. If you're not 100% certain you could sell it without a lot of work doing so, taking the time to try everything and giving it 100% then there are a few things wrong here:

        1) You need to improve your book
        2) Think seriously if you want to be in this business

Where else can you start a business for $5 a month? Something to think about...

LOL... Good on ya. You could have easily went with the old standard answer so many people use around here like "it's impossible" or "I don't think I can do that" type of mentality.

You could have folder your tent and went home...

But instead you're not thinking negatively at all and that is something you cannot teach a person. I think you might just make it in this business after all. It's still early and the jury's still out but I'm usually a good judge of character so work hard and become successful in this business so I can gloat, okay.

What about offering $5 articles on Fiverr or two for $5 special just to get some bucks to start with so you can get that website started and not compromise your book.

Free trial at E-Junkie and a link in your sig will do it. Monthly cost after trial is only $5, and you should be able to sell one in a month, right?

And while I myself find this a horrifying prospect, many people have gotten started with PPC by just pretending they had the money and running ads, knowing they wouldn't get the bill until the end of the month.

You can also try selling it on Social Media networks. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Buzz etc.
Instead of having a website you can have a facebook fan page for yourself where you can promote you books.

You can definitely sell an eBook on Fiverr. In fact, a great tactic I had alot of success with was to develop a system that got people to purchase an entire course/system, by selling each individual book in the course for $5. As they purchased one through Fiverr, my system provided them with the opportunity to purchase the next for $5 and so on.

Like Tenbux.com, Zeerk.com, Gigbucks.com, Mturk.com, Dealerr.com, Sevenstew.com, JobsFor10.com, Gigswood.com, Gighour.com, TaskArmy.com etc. It will cost you nothing and you can start it within few hours. Just make a report, join the above sites, make the gigs and start promoting your ebook link in the relevant forums.

Tip: Tenbux allow you to have your gig price $5 or $10. So, if you provide more info and make an ebook of 20/25 pages or so. Then its worth the money and will sell good. Just find relevant forums and provide quality information there, have your link in signature and you are good to go.

      Hope it will help.

Go to freevirtualservers.com and register a domain name of your choice (can be as low as GBP£10). You can then also sign up for free hosting and the only stipulation is that you have to have their link on your home page - which is no big deal.
By the time you've got a few sales under your belt, you could have enough cash to move into the cheapest paid hosting plan (with no home page link required) without having to move your site, which will see your monthly bandwidth limit significantly increased, allowing you to handle more traffic.

Not certain, but that isn't quite what I suggested, Rich.

You can get free domains from .tk or .co.cc and professional, reliable, free hosting at companies like byethost.com.

Trying to sell something from a wordpress.com or blogspot site would be very unwise, not so much because people might not buy from there (I think they would, anyway), but because of wordpress.com's and blogspot's terms of service and the fact that you wouldn't own the site and it might be deleted in the night. There's no need to take risks like that when you can get your own domain-name and hosting free anyway, and be in control yourself of your own professional site without needing to spend a penny on it.

It's very difficult indeed (if not impossible) to see any potential upside at all to trying to do this without a website, isn't it? Anyone can have their own website in half an hour, these days, with no cost at all.

Get a domain name relevant to the title of your book, put a simple one page website on a free host and (the difficult part) promote it as hard as you can.

There where some great tips in this great thread allready. But I have to ask you something do you want to make money with your ebook?
You have to have your own website or blog. Hosting and domain name is much cheaper that all the other options I know. And you can have more than one niche on your website.
Of course you can use fiverr to sell your ebook but you always have to pay for it as well.
I am an internet marketer since 2004 and I have about 10 websites online and I really recommend you to make a blog and use your real name as domain name.
You can take a look at my blog here.
Everthing about marketing - Internet Marketing Blog
People will remember your name and they will visit your website more offend.
Let me show you that the investment is really worth it.
domainname $10 and 1 year of hosting $60 all together $70
fiverr they pay $5 and you earn $4
You sell 100 copys and you pay $100
And you can choose the price for your ebook on your own website.
Do your own website is very cheap and a lot cheaper than to set up a free blog that is gone tomorrow.

      I hope you will succeed.

Just get one PLR ebook, tweak it a little and sell it on ebay. This is the easiest way.

However it is recommended to get a squeeze page with an optin form and make people fill their email address and then give the ebook to them for free. This way you can get some targeted hungry subscribers that will help you in the long run. And thats what all IMers do.

Great question. I think that with posting your e-book to Fiverr, you might be short-changing yourself a little. Fiverr also takes $1 from every sale - could be worth it if you have a lot of people wanting your book, but this can also be difficult to acquire with their site being so saturated with tons of creators putting out their products of all varieties.

If the content is original, I would definitely scope the Amazon + Google Books markets - not only is your audience a little larger and targeted for you (readers), but you could probably earn some respectable coin doing it this way.

I realize it's not your intention to make a billion dollars off of this small project, but why not make a bit more than you need? Your work is worth more than $4. Good luck!

    1. Blogger: Get a custom Sales Page template

    2. Find a free hosting site (Free Web Hosting with cPanel, PHP, and no Ads) or offer someone with hosting a commission based off each sale to host it on there own site. Register a free domain name at CO.CC - Free Domain name registration + Free DNS service., with this being outside of the IM niche, most people won't even know it's free. Not to mention, regardless of niche, it's still a good deal for those just getting set up. (Recommended setup)

    Good luck,

    Matt
